Can you tell that I love the darksides? Can you? But I wrote this a while back and thought here would be a nice place to put it. Sorry it's shorter then my usual stuff.

I wouldn't necessarily call this fluff but it's not angst either. What do you think? I have a couple oneshots with this kind of tone (some are ships) and I have no idea how to categorise them.

Now this was written before Remus was a side and I had Remy in his place because like, procrastination I guess, but then I switched it to Remus. Basically, if anything is weird or there is a mistake that's why. So please let me know.

They all appeared in the darkness one day. It was blank and silent but they felt something. Others with them.

Sound of everything was muffled. Soon they would learn that they were Thomas' thoughts. They were a part of him. The group had little control over what he did, but sometimes they could feel a pulsating boom, boom, boom. Then Thomas would change what he did. They never interacted with the others.

One day, the group emerged from the darkness and were sitting on the floor, looking at each other. They all burst out laughing. They had never seen anything else.

'I live in a prison that I built myself, it is my religion.'

The room that was previously barren now had a sofa with one chair beside it. In front was a screen that displayed Thomas. Then there was a small kitchen with an adjacent corridor inhabited 3 doors leading to their rooms.

The first door had Janus written in yellow snakes.
The second door had Remus scratched into the wood and then painted over in green.
The third door had no writing, but a cloud of purple plaid.
The interiors were all similar.

They had built it themselves.

'We're united under our indifference.'

They all cared for Thomas but didn't care for themselves. Instead it seemed that the group would care for each other, picking each other up, keeping everyone steady. Other parts of Thomas did not support the three or the jobs that they did.

Some viewed it as wrong and bad. Some didn't see what they were doing to help Thomas. Or they just couldn't be bothered to look.

Self-preservation. Lying to not hurt others. Intrusive thoughts so as to keep you motivated to work because you can't sleep.
And the drive for both. Worrying about outcomes and actions. Anxiety.

In some, yes, they could be incredibly evil. The darkness could plague your life, ruin it. But Thomas was lucky. This darkness was good. Very good. But the others neither cared nor want to hear that. Others didn't care that this darkness was golden not black.

'When everyone projects and expects you to listen to em.'

The "Light Sides" manifested long before the three. They very rarely got any contact from Logic, Morality and Creativity. But enough, so that they knew who they were.

The first time was to explain what was happening when they first appeared. They were all there. Morality pretty much never came after that. Apparently he couldn't take the auras that the three unknowingly produced.

The other times were when either Logic or Creativity came to the three to shout. They would berate what they would deem to be their opposites; "The Dark Sides".

They didn't come for Janus or Remus very often. They didn't see the point as the two characters didn't take any notice of their opinions. Virgil was the one who had to overwork and listen to their comments. It was Thomas' teenage years after all so they definitely had their own idea on how Thomas should be.

It always put Virgil down so the other two told him not to listen to them.

'Feed yourself with my life's work.'

The "Light Sides" always took credit for everything.

Thanks to Janus, Thomas was an incredible actor. His talent of harmless deception and changing his facial expressions helped Thomas greatly. It wasn't Creativity, with his fantasies of grandeur.

Without Remus, Thomas wouldn't have finished thousands of the projects or homework that he had to do. Remus has to keep him up and motivated to do good. He doesn't want to be what his intrusive thoughts say he is. No help from Logic's apparently fool proof planning.

What about Virgil. Thomas's drive for good didn't come from nowhere. If the anxiety didn't make him so worried about how others felt and how they were doing. Well he wouldn't be where he is now. And where was Morality, the one who was supposed to be good and kind to others.

But no it was always the good of the "Light Sides". This was the other's life work. And they never got the deserved credit. Never.

'But this is us, this is us, this is.'

But even though the friends had a hard time. It was who they were. And they were together. Didn't that count for something.

No matter what, they would stick together.

"I am the sick boy." Mused Janus whilst laughing.
"I am the sick boy." Remus joined in. A grin on his face.
"I am the sick boy." Finished Virgil shaking his head at his friends.

Yes, no matter what, they would stick together.

I hope you enjoyed that. It was just a little thing that I did a while back so if I made mistakes please let me know.

If anyone has any requests I would be happy to take some. Stay safe everyone and take care of yourselves.
