Phana's POV

As soon as the quiz is over I go up to the front of the room to check my scores. I got the top score, of course. Then I do something I have never done before, I ask the professor to print out a copy of the score report. He probably thinks I am going to gloat to my friends, but really I just want to gloat to that Shorty.

"Pha, what's going on?" Kit asked, looking at me sharply. I know, I'm acting weird.

"Nothing, it's not a big deal," I said, trying to sound nonchalant. "I'm just going out for sushi."

"With whom?" Beam gave me the same look, like he thinks I might be growing a second head.

"With that Nong, the freshman Moon from the Science Faculty," Kit guessed. How did he know? I looked down at my shoes, feeling like a kid being caught stealing cookies before dinner.

"What about Nong Wayo from high school?" Beam asked me. "Have you already given up on him?"

"What? No!" Of course I haven't given up on Wayo, even if Shorty is adorably cute and looks like a super handsome version of my Wayo, I don't want him to be a substitute. Feeling guilty I look at my friends for help. "Help me! I need someone to take me to the Sushi House so I can cancel my plans with him."

"Hey, don't get us involved in this." Kit and Beam both start backing away like the cowards they are.

"You're my friends, you're supposed to help me when I'm in trouble!"

"Okay, we'll think of something."

I told my friends I had to go, I'm sure Shorty is done with his practice. Hopefully my friends can think of something quickly to get me out of this.

I stop at the practice area and they are just getting out. Shorty is looking at his phone, his pink lips pursed in a pout. Why does he always look so adorable?

"Sawasdee krab," Shorty wais to me as he notices me standing near him. His chocolate brown eyes are staring at me, making me rethink getting out of this dinner. I take the score report I got from the professor and show it to Shorty with a grin on my face.

"29 out of 50?" He looks at me with a shocked expression. Does he think I'm stupid?

"No, 29.5 out of 30!"

His face changed from shocked to impressed and then he turned his amazing smile to me and I have to remember to breathe. Why was I so worried about going out to sushi with him? I smiled back at him, about to ask him if he's ready to go when someone walked into my eye-line, blocking my view of his cute face.

"Pha, I was looking for you," Pring said in her usual sweet voice. "Ai'Beam and Ai'Kit told me you wanted to go to sushi. I'm free now, do you want to go?"

I'm looking behind her at Shorty, wondering why she's bothering me, when I remember why I don't want to go with him. I'm not giving up on my Wayo and this beautiful boy isn't going to change my mind.

"Yes," I said to her before turning to Shorty. "Just go back to training, Shorty. I'm going with Ai'Pring."

"Okay," he mumbled to me, but I'm already walking away.

Author's Note: My work has pretty much been canceled during the Coronavirus outbreak. So I've had an amazing amount of time to work on this story. Which means I've added a lot of chapters recently. I hope that my friend (and anyone else who reads this) is enjoying the story. I didn't actually expect anyone else to read it, but I see a few people have, so I feel pretty lucky. Please give me comments about my writing or what you think of the changes I've made to the original and share the story with your friends. I love constructive criticism and I love making new friends.
