This might end up being more of a history lesson than anything else. These are the original elemental weapons too.

Kai- Kai's weapon appears to be a normal golden sword but there is no "normal" sword in history, almost every culture has a different form for this weapon. Initially I thought the Sword of Fire was a katana but the blade style and hilt were extremely different. Doing some research, I found that his weapon resembles a Jian which is a Chinese long-sword.

The Jian was one of the most commonly used swords in China, dubbed the "king of swords". It was popularized in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty and declined during the Han Dynasty in Eastern China. The Jian has an easily identifiable long handle and a thick hilt. While the Jian is double bladed, the Sword of Fire appears to be only single side bladed. The Jian can range from 18 to 31 inches long (46-79 cm) and 1.5 to 2 lbs (0.7-0.9 kg).

Jay- I mean Jay's is pretty obvious, they're nunchucks which are apparently called nunchaku (ヌンチャク) or a "chain-stick"

Jay- I mean Jay's is pretty obvious, they're nunchucks which are apparently called nunchaku (ヌンチャク) or a "chain-stick". It's a Japanese weapon that originated in Okinawa. Japanese warlords invaded Okinawa and banned conventional weapons, so the Okinawan learned kobudo and karate and used farming tools as weapons. So the nunchaku came from a Southeast Asian tool used for threshing rice and soybeans.

There's another belief that nunchaku came from a wooden clapper called the hyoshiki. The hyoshiki was two blocks of wood tied by a cord and was used by watchmen. It was a noise maker to alert the people that something was approaching the village. Nunchaku are averagely 12 inches (30 cm) but they can also reach up to 14 inches (36 cm).

Zane- Shuriken, literally translates to 'hidden blade' in Japanese. It's a concealed dagger or metsubushi used for distractions or misdirection. While modern shurikens are shown as throwing stars, they can actually come in really any shape you can imagine. The edges of the weapon are sharpened just enough to penetrate skin or cut arteries.

Shurikens were mostly used by samurai or ashigaru soldiers rather than ninja as they are commonly displayed. There are more than one type of shuriken, for example the bō shuriken (棒手裏剣, stick shuriken), the hira shuriken (平手裏剣, flat shuriken), and the shaken (車剣, wheel shuriken, also read as kurumaken).

Cole- The Scythe of Quakes was definitely an interesting choice of weaponry for an Asian influenced TV show. From what I can tell, the scythe was mainly used in European history and wars. Even then it was modified to be a curved spear, nothing like the scythe Cole wields in the show. The scythe was mostly used as a farming tool but then redesigned as a spear-like war scythe

However, Cole's scythe could've been an extended variation of the Japanese kama (鎌 or かま) also called the kai or double kai. The main differences between the kama and the Scythe of Quakes is the length and blade size. The kama is only 14 inches (36 cm) and the blade is 6 inches (15 cm). Judging from how tall I see Cole and the proportions of his scythe... his scythe would be around 6' to 6' 2 long (183-188 cm) and the blade would be about 20 to 26 inches (61-66 cm).

Lloyd- For Lloyd's weapon, I would've said a tachi which is a Japanese sword older than the katana, longer, and more curved

Lloyd- For Lloyd's weapon, I would've said a tachi which is a Japanese sword older than the katana, longer, and more curved. But the curves between the two two swords are vastly different. Therefore, Lloyd uses a katana. It's a weapon unique to Japan and mainly used by samurai though ninja have adopted the weapon over the years.

Katanas can be dually wielded together with something called a chisa katana or with a smaller sword called a wakizashi. The average katana blade is around 23 to 29 inches (58-74 cm). The hilt guard can be either circular or rectangular. The katana's handle wrap is called an ito, I believe.

Nya- She has a badass samurai mech suit, what more is there to say?
