Chapter 39

"... I don't want you to leave will you hold my hand?.."

I watched as the officers drove off with my dad in the back..
I couldn't believe it.. Was he  finally gone?

Mattia was still holding on to me.. He didn't let me go.. Not even for a  split second.

"Gabriella.."

My mom whispered..
I knew this was hard for her..
I slipped of Mattias arms and hugged my mother tightly..
She started crying on my shoulder..
Seeing my mother cry.. Was probably one of the worst feelings in the whole entire world.

"Shh mom.. He's gone now"

I rubbed her back, trying to comfort her.
She let me go and wiped her tears,she turned to Mattia and gave him a small smile.

"And who you may be?"

She said jokingly.. I saw Mattia gulp.

"My name is Mattia Polibio Mrs Kelly, I'm your daughter's.. Friend?"

Mattia said and I laughed at his cute nervousness..

"Well, Mattia, thank you a lot for today, you're a very brave boy"

My mother said making Mattia smile.

"No need to thank me Mrs Kelly, I did what's right, I'm sorry you both had to go through that"

My mother smiled and gave Mattia a hug, he stood there frozen but soon hugged back.

"Take care of my daughter"

My mother said winking before heading back inside, making both Mattia and I blush.

"Thank you for literally saving my life"

He smiled and  he pulled me into a hug.

"I said no need to thank me"

I laughed a little and pulled away..

"I think it's time for me to head insi-"

I tried saying but he cut me off.

"Yeah no, you're sleeping over at my place tonight"

I felt my heart skip a beat.

"But -"

"Nope I'm not leaving you, you're staying with me"

I slightly smiled at him.

"Fine, let me ask my mother first"

I slowly walked to the kitchen.. Where my mother was sitting at..

"Mom?"

I said with a voice Crack making her look at me with confusion on her face..

"Yes?"

"Would you mind if... I slept at Mattia's today?"

I nervously started playing with my fingers making her laugh.

"of course you can go honey, he seems good, I trust him and I see the way you look at each other , just don't have TOO much fun"

She said winking and I smiled.

"We're not together mom"

"Not YET"

I just laughed rolling my eyes and gave her a hug before heading up the stairs.
I grabbed all the stuff I needed and headed back downstairs.

"I'm ready, bye mom, I love you"

"Love you too honey!"

With that I opened the front door and started walking towards Mattia's car.
