Isla's POV

"Isla."

"Isla."

"Isla."

"What?" I snapped, looking up from my book.

"I'm bored," Saskia pouted. We were sitting in the living room area of the house, casually passing time. It was almost noon and lunch would be starting soon. Linette and Elliot were on their laptops while Mathieu and Yann were working on "school work". I was engrossed in reading an Agatha Christie book while laying on the carpet floor in the ray of sunlight that seeped through the curtains. Saskia on the other hand, was laying upside down, hanging off the side of the couch on her phone. I glared at her as she snatched my book from my hands. Everyone was silently doing their work and of course Saskia had to ruin the peacefulness.

"Hey! Give it back, I was supposed to find out who the killer is!" I whisper-yelled, reaching up to grab my book.

"Too bad, you," she said pointing at me, "are coming shopping with me."

"What why?"

"Did you forget? The Orientation Ball?" she asked. I heard Linette gasp, looking up from her laptop. The Orientation Ball was an event that occurred the third day after all the summer camp kids arrived. It lasted from 7:30 to midnight and it was basically an event for everyone to get to know each other and make new friends or meet up with old ones.

"Shit," she mubled, making everyone else look up from their work.

"What would you two do without me,"Saskia sighed, flipping her wrist length hair.

"Saskia you need a haircut," I said, making a face at the split ends.

"Ugh I know," she groaned.

"I'll cut it for you," I said, stretching out on the floor. I turned on my back and rested my head on my elbows. It felt nice to have the heat of the sun on my back. That is, until Saskia slapped my butt really hard with my book.

"Ow, fuckin bitch," I hissed, glaring at her.

"Damn," Yann chuckled, looking up from his notebook. "That looked like it hurt."

"You're right, it stings," I said, rubbing my butt.

"OK well hurry up then, we need to go shopping for dresses," Saskia said, waving my book around.

"We have until 5 to be back," Linette added, looking at the clock.

"Do you have your things?" I asked the boys.

"Yeah, just tux for us," Mathieu nodded making me roll my eyes.

"Lucky," I grumbled.

"Not my fault you girls take 9 hours to get ready," Yann said raising his hands in surrender.

"Not my fault blah blah blah," I mocked, rolling my eyes. Yann narrowed his yes at me and Mathieu chuckled, shaking his head.

"Isla!" Saskia shouted, making me jump. "Get outside," she demanded, pushing her knuckles into the center of my back.

"Ok, ok! Ow!"

"Oh, guarda (look)!" Linette chirped excitedly pointing to one of the dresses at the back. Saskia gave her an odd look, tilting her head. I was used to the two girls blurting words in their native language. Especially when they're excited. I had learned Italian over summer last year so I understood basics but I had't looked at a single bit of Greek. All I knew were the swear words that Saskia threw around way too casually. We made out way to the back of the store to find a gorgeous beige mermaid dress. It was a rarity that a girl found her dress at first glance, but it happened with Linette. She was hell bent on getting that dress the moment she saw it. Saskia agreed as well after seeing her in it. Saskia on the other hand. Oof that girl was a whole other story. Linette decided to go get us starbucks while we looked for our dresses and she dragged me through the whole store 6 times. I probably did a marathon in there.
