Chapter 12

I am sitting cross legged on my bed as I roast my eyes reading the scanned pages and the articles.

I had already spent two hours browsing through websites and blogs to get some information and so far I have found some valuable information.

Someone knocked on my open door and I raised my head to spot mom approaching my bed ,a frown marring her face.

She took a seat beside me ,quickly peering at the tablet in my hand.

She pushed a strand of hair behind my ear and rested her hand there, I leaned into her touch and she gently pulled my head on her shoulder.

I gave a deep sigh, finally feeling as if I can unlock my sealed emotions.

My lips quickered and I released a sob.

It evoked more tears and I cried at my misfortune, I cried about everything and nothing mumbling about it all.

All through it she just patted my head and whispered comfort in my ears.

My sobbing died down into quite sniffles. I raised my head and wiped my tears away.

She encased my face in her hands, " Shh, everything is going to be alright" she whispered softly and I pulled her in a hug.

I don't want to ever let go of her. I want to stay here forever like this in her arms, under the illusion that she will shield me from any problem that comes my way. She is my knight in shining armor, she has always been.

I pulled back and eased into my previous position.

"So what is this in regard of," she asked nodding at my tablet.

" I-, we found something, for Ash" I replied looking down. I don't know how she will react but surprisingly she placed her hand on top of mine.

" You did" she breathed out and I raised my eyes to comprehend her emotion, her face glowed with hope, eyes crinkling at the corner in a half smile.

I nodded back smiling. And I have, I have found something worth perusing.

Footsteps padded on the floor and Ash peaked his head in my room from behind the door frame.

" Mom I- whats wrong Ari" he asked, he is ten but he understands everything.

" Nothing baby we were just talking, what did you want me for" Mom asked changing the subject as she stood up to go to Ash.

" I just wanted to ask if you would make macaroni for dinner" Ash asked with an excited grin and Mom nodded.

His grin widened and he clutched mom's hand dragging her out of my room.

She turned back to look at me, hope and desperation raw in her eyes. I gave her a firm nod in return, nothing more and nothing less.

Minutes later Skye entered my room with his own tablet, his hairs tousled as if he had been running his fingers through them continuously.

He reached my bed and plopped down with an exhale." Did you find anything"

In reply I showed him my tablet screen, I saw Kayden passing my room and I called him, he came inside still in his work cloths and joined us on the bed.

" We went to the library today and I think we found something"

I showed him all the highlighted texts that we had marked in the library, his ran his hand through his hairs and grabbed my tablet scanning through the information meticulously getting into his lawyer mode.

I then showed him the new notes and texts that I had underlined.

" You remember Skye we were going to search for Peculiar Urydale but we were interrupted, well I searched again and read some articles, now here read this."

It was a written travel log of a tourist dated some two years back, he has written that, for some reason the security was tight for this town and he was not even allowed to enter.

'I was asked for a signed permission or if I had any relatives in the village. I didn't and I told them that I am a tourist and want to explore. They didn't let me in ,even after I asked for the reason of denial'

"And now look at this one, remember this user Skye. I checked his followers and some had been blocked before. But all had the same tagline in their bio, Transparent Unscripted." I showed them the comments and the blogs signed with this tagline.

" It doesn't make sense the words mean almost the same thing" Kayden pointed out, but the phrase was not as simple as the words.

"I searched through the photos of this town and none were recent. I didn't even find a single pic on insta or tumbler." Skye put forth his observation.

The more we search the more this keeps getting complicated. We can't base our conclusion on this, what if we are just amusing things.

" What if-" I hesitated a little, I don't even know if my theory is right- " what if there are more like Ash, more colourless out there, or specifically in this town" I raised my doubt and they both looked at me.

More like me.

But I didn't voice that.

" We don't have any proof, we can't take action based on this " Kayden spoke, as he taps on my tablet.

"What are you searching for" Skye asked, peering at the tablet in Kayden's hand.

He sighed, " there was this friend of mine in fifth grade, he-, one day he just went somewhere. That happened a few days after his birthday, his family just shifted to some place else. I don't know where, he didn't tell me. But he-, he never showed us his color, maybe he was hesitant but I don't think that was the case. He said that he didn't have any, but I didn't took him seriously then" Kayden explained, his voice low, just above a whisper.

Tension hummed in the air as we delved into the subject.

"We can search his profile on facebook, see where he is" Skye proposed but Kayden just shook his head.

" I already did, he is in Urydale" he breathed gravely and passed us the tablet .

There was the proof that we needed in bold letters.

" What now" I whispered, focusing my attention on my brothers.

" We need to go there" Skye replied with the obvious ,but saying it aloud just made it real.

" It is 627 kilometres, we can cover the distance in one hour if we go in speed train." Kayden spoke.

" Our one month vacation is starting day tomorrow, we can go to Urydale then"

" You can't, what about Ash" Skye commented sharply.

" And I have work, I can't go" Kayden took a breath, massaging his temple.

" Skye can go and I can too, for two days. If we can't find anything then we will return." I put forth my proposition.

I am desperate for some answers and I have a feeling that Urydale can has them.

" Then we go tomorrow" Skye agreed.

The plan is in place ,time to dig the secrets Urydale is hiding.

This was supposed to be tens and have a little bit of mystery. Did you get that felling while reading this or should I improve?
