Previously in book one of The Empress Zima series: The Emperor's Strange Wife.

The Empress Zima series follow Zima, in the beginning a young 19 year old woman from Kenya sold to Japan to marry Emperor Aki for the benefit of her village. Her journey leads her to finding love, a new family, and endless adventures, making new friends, and new enemies.

Previously in Book 1 Zima has started her journey from Kenya to Japan, She has: Reunited Aki's family of sibling, and his old friend Katio. Studied the art of ninja way and is a chunin level ninja. Zima is beast holder and inside her body a spiritual animal known as Jasmine the lion resides. Aki the holder of the beast stone which possess four animals that see him as their owner and follow his commands. Aki is very careful when to consider to summon an animal. The animals that are in Aki's stone are Alexis the polar bear, Jasmine the lion, and an undiscovered black panther, and leopard.

In the final arc Aki was arrested for his crime of killing his parents. However with the help of his Aika a smart and tactical lawyer she managed to clear him clean, and frame Haunt. However his bumps with enemies doesn't end here.

Zima Bibsbebe Nadya: 21, Kenyan born, dark skin woman, tall, courageous, curly short hair, brave, and open to learning new things. Very passionate about protecting her loved ones. Empress of the Village of Grace.

Aki Ota: 22, Japanese, long hair, tall, stern, serious, vengeful, and very goal focused. Has a soft spot for the people that he loves. Emperor of the Village of Grace.

Hino Ota: 20, Japanese, average height, cranky a lot, Aki's brother younger brother.
