"IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME?'I asked Lexi as soon as we both walked in the joint for our shifts. We decided to ride together since we got called in, we weren't even supposed to be working today but apparently there wasn't enough people working.

I didn't mind since the upside was that it was extra money, the only downside about it is majority of the squad works here and I literally could not stand them.
Especially Jamal and his dad is literally my boss, and has been for year's.

Lexi sighed and didn't say anything as she put her stuff up in the backroom we walked in which was where we put up our stuff. It didn't take much to get into it since we came in through the back.

"Lexi."I called her name since she didn't say anything back to me. All she did was look at me and it was obvious that she was out of it just now by the look on her face but then again she was since her and Rashad's breakup.

Even before then.

It's like she was slowly pulling away but this just made it even worse.

"Yeah?"She answered.

"Are you okay?"I asked slightly frowning.

"Why wouldn't I be okay?"

"You seem out of it."I raised a brow,"And you don't exactly look okay."I tried not to make a face and succeeded in doing so cause it was true. It was obvious by her face she has been crying nonstop and her not wearing makeup kind of made it visible.

She had on sweatpants and a Dwaynes sweater instead of the shirts we usually wear. Her outfit was comfortable and baggy which is weird since that's not her style or thing.

"I'm tired, and honestly I don't feel that great."Lexi shook her head,"So can we not do all the questions-"She gestured between us.

"Well before I asked them, I asked you a simple one but you were too stuck in your head to listen."I gave her a look crossing my arms,"But it doesn't matter anymore-".

Lexi rolled her eyes.

"What matters is I've been calling Cesar two days straight and he didn't pick up once. It's not like him."I hid my worry but the truth is it wasn't like him. I texted him on literally everything and got nothing. He always says something back but this time it felt different.

Something was different.

It was obvious when I texted him and all of my messages stopped being delivered or even seen altogether.
