Zane's POV

I was assigned to have a watch, a timer to be precise, so that we knew when,

It was too late to save Kai.

When we should head back to get warm again and top up on markers.

I was meant to get up and over the leafy cover and shine the brightest possible light that I could so then everyone could start heading back, following their rope. I was meant to do this when the watch had hit an hour left, right now it had two hours and a half left. It seems like a lot of time but when you're endlessly searching for something, or should I say someone in such a cold place without knowing if it's even going to pay off, time seems to work weirdly. Either, time slows down a bunch and when I think a lot of time has passed, it has really only been about ten minutes. Or time speeds up, and I call for ages and ages without realising it and when I look at the timer it has already been half an hour. Also, we had started with five hours on it, so to see that half the time was already gone was really worrying. Oh, Masha's telling me to hurry up as she still needs to finish writing the story. Now she's telling me to delete something... Huh, strange.
