It's 10 in the morning, Tuesday.

I am here in the hospital, and needless to say, hindi na naman ako nakapasok ng school.

Aubrey and I are in the hospital cafeteria, eating breakfast.

"Do you think he has amnesia?" she asked in between spoonfuls.

She looked terrible. I can't imagine how she must be feeling right now.

Justin woke up earlier and seemed to have forgotten all about his relationship with Aubrey. He thinks that we are still together. Me and him. He even called me 'hon' which was our term of endearment before.

Aubrey panicked then, so we called the nurses and they checked on him. Okay naman ang vitals niya, and even the attending doctor confirmed na maayos naman ang mga lab results niya, so he should be fine.

"I can't live without him, Pat," she said, her eyes welling with tears.

I smiled. Not because I find the situation funny, but because I think I have heard that line before.

"You know what, Justin said the same thing about you," I told her, recalling my conversation with Justin just yesterday morning.

"H-He did?" she asked, her eyes lighting up.

"Yes. Kaya huwag kang panghinaan ng loob. Si Justin pa ba? I'm sure he'll fight with all his might para makabalik na sa iyo," sabi ko sa kaniya, and I did not say that just to calm her down. I said it because I believe it to be true.

She smiled at me. "Na-miss kita," she said shyly, making a face.

Maybe, as morbid as it sounds, this is God's way of letting our paths cross again.

"I missed you, too."

"No. No road trips na muna. Pareho na kayong naaksidente ngayong taon, and you both barely survived. Let's not push our luck," kabadong sambit niya.
