Later in the week, I awaken from the sun beaming on my face and away the sheets to expose my Looney Tunes pyjamas and frizzy hair.

I sluggishly climb out of bed and make my way downstairs while faint disco music thumps from the living room...

Before slowly stopping and staring with lowered brows.

"Come on ladies! Work those glutes! Feeeel the burn, woooo!"

Dad marches quickly to the dance fitness program on TV, dressed in a sleeveless band shirt, shorts, headband, leg and wrist warmers.

"Dad? What are you doing?" I snort.

"Zumba Shego..." He pants, "I hear these things are great for shedding pounds... Trying to lose this beer belly."

"Alright ladies it'ssss swivel time! Ready?! And swivel swivel swivel!"

Dad stops in an A pose and throws his head back breathlessly. "Not the swivel..."

I giggle by the doorway with folded arms as I watch him copy the energetic middle-aged women on TV. Dad looks at me before tilting his head.

"You wanna join?"

"Sure."

"There you go! Now REACH for those stars!"

We both stretch our arms high on balanced toes until Dad's back cracks and he falls, knocking me over in the process until we both land on the carpet and lay there executing exhausted laughter.

"I don't think I'm cut out for this fitness thing."

"You're really not."

"Watch it." He points playfully, making me laugh.

"Agh, I've had enough exercise for one day. Time for some TV." I lean against the couch from behind as Dad collapses into it and turns on his favorite reality show.
