Addie's POV:

I didn't have much to do for the next hour since I would be getting ready at Tasha's but I was certainly not leaving my room. I wasn't sure what came over me in Xander's office but when he touched me... I shivered at the memory, staring up at the ceiling and flattening my hands out on the bed.

I could still feel the ghost of his lips and hands on me and it elicited an involuntary whimper. He barely touched me. How could I be so turned on by that? It wasn't just that. It was his voice too. Hell, even the growl when he pulled me against him. It all sent my head spiraling and heat right between my legs. I still felt the ache and fought the urge to do anything about it. I couldn't let him affect me like this. It was ridiculous. I barely knew him.

I sighed in frustration and sat up, glancing around the room. I needed to do something. Anything. I got up and grabbed my laptop. I could update the social media pages for my business. I hadn't done that in a few days. Once the laptop was on I remembered I couldn't do that without wi-fi. I could ask for the password but that would mean leaving my room and risking running into Xander. I shut my laptop with a huff and laid back on the bed.

The hour dragged on and felt like much longer but once an hour passed I got up and grabbed my purse before opening my door. I peeked around the hallway to make sure Xander wasn't around before opening the door to let Hector out. We both hurried down the stairs and went to the kitchen since it was my most familiar room so far.

Cassie, Renzo, and two people I didn't recognize. One was an older woman, cooking over the stove. The other was sitting at the stool looking dejected. They all stopped talking when I walked in the room. I hoped at some point the silence and staring would stop.

"Hi Addie," Cassie greeted. "Is this your dog?" She asked, walking over to Hector.

"No. I'm just watching him," I answered. Hector hid behind me and Cassie frowned. "Don't take it personally," I told her. "Hector's a little anxious around people."

Renzo circled around and crouched down. Hector responded to him instantly, walking over and letting him pet him. It was kind of weird but I guessed he could sense there was something different about him.

"I actually was hoping someone could keep an eye on him tonight?" I asked. "He's real low maintenance, just needs someone to take him outside and give him some water."

"I'd be happy to," Renzo said, looking up at me with a grin.

"Thanks," I said, clasping my hands together as my eyes drifted to the other two who were, yes, still staring.

"Hi Luna," the older one greeted, wiping her hands on a towel before walking over. "I'm Tess's mother, Ginny. That's Felipe," she said, pointing to the man behind her. "He'll be taking you to your friend's tonight and following you to the church until Alpha arrives."

I recognized Felipe now. He was the one that knocked on the door earlier. He smiled but bowed his head, avoiding eye contact. Weird.

"Please, call me Addie," I said, smiling at Ginny. "It's nice to meet you both. Thank you for doing this for me, Felipe."

"It's my pleasure Lu- Addie," Felipe answered, rising from his stool. "Should we get going?"

I nodded and gave another smile to Ginny. Felipe gave me a shy smile before walking out the door. I followed after him, turning to wave at Cassie and Renzo. They smiled and waved back. Normally Hector would follow me but he seemed to be enjoying the belly rub Renzo was giving him too much to notice my departure.

We got in the car and I gave Felipe the address. He seemed nice, just shy. He tried to make small talk but I also wasn't good at that. The drive felt long despite his attempt at making me comfortable. It was hard to feel comfortable knowing he would be waiting around for the next two hours just so I could be there for Tasha. I felt bad. I would need to do something for him.
