Chapter 16

Annie's POV
We stand there looking into one another's eyes. It wasn't an awkward silence...it was nice. He clears his throat and looks back out at the view. "Annie I'm sorry about how I have treated you..."he says slowly. "It's ok I'm used to people walking into my life and leaving me the next minute. I think I have been hurt so many times now that it doesn't hurt anymore."

He looks at me and pulls me into a hug. "I'm always going to be here for you. And I mean that." He rest his head on mine and we stand there for a while. I hear the door open and I tense up. I look at the door to see Case and Bella standing there. My heart starts to beat faster.

"Aww look at the love birds. Bit tragic don't you think" Bella says as they walk closer to us. Hayden pulls me behind him as they get closer. "Hayden?" I look at him. "Don't worry I won't let them hurt you."I smile as he stands in front of me.

"Give us Annie and you don't need to get hurt." The sound of Case's voice send shivers down my spine. "Why do you want her?" Hayden asks raising an eyebrow. "None of your business lover boy" Case pushes past Hayden and grabs my arm. It's happening again. I start to gasp for air.

Hayden pulls case off me and pulls me into his chest. He turns us around and rushes us out the door. As we get out of the school he pulls me behind a car. "I got you now. I won't let anyone hurt you" I show him a soft smile.

We stand there for while just talking about life. I mean I finally gotten over Hayden. But...I think I'm falling for him all over again. I can't let myself get hurt this time. No matter what. We only got back to a good place and I don't want to ruin it.

Kenzie and Jayden are going to flip. I feel my phone buzzing in my pocket. I take it out and answer it. "What's wrong Jayden?" I say as I tell Hayden to be quiet. "He cheated on me with some girl name Peyton." She says between sobs. "I'm going to kill him and that hoe. Don't worry Jay I'll take care of this." I comfort her on the phone before hanging up.

"I got to go I'm sorry Hayden." I say as I push myself off the car. I walk off and into the school. I swear when I get that boy he is dead meat. I'm like a raging bull walking through the halls looking for Asher. I soon find him and let off hell to him. He may off peed himself a little. I mean I wasn't that aggressive. I just screamed at him a lot. I mean a lot.
