CHAPTER 7: Assembly Meeting

Kyle's POV

I was left with curiousity and wonder but I just didn't mind what Andrea meant on what she said. I only wanted to be nice because I knew that she was close to Thea.

After that day, I never saw Thea again. Until I got home, I never received a message from her. Maybe she realized that I am deserving for her. Maybe she realized that I could not be her friend only.

"Oh Nak! Ano yang hawak mo?" Mama asked when I entered in our house.

I also looked at my hands with the certificate I am holding.

"Certificate po, Mama! Nanalo po ako ng Mr. Best in Costume. Galing ko no, Ma?" Sabi ko sabay kindat sa kanya.

"Wow naman! At may dala ka pang ulam at candies ah," sagot niya saka naghahanda ng pagkain sa mesa.

I put down the chocolates and candies on the table so my sisters would eat it. I also took my dinner then went up to my bedroom. I took a shower first before laying down on the bed.

When I was done in fixing myself, I laid down on bed and checked my phone. As I was scrolling on my newsfeed, I saw the public post of the facebook page of our church. It was the documentations for the event earlier. I tap the album and looked for my picture and our picture together with Thea.

When I saw it, I only stared and saved it to my gallery. As I was staring for our picture, I realized how greatful our God was. He could make a way to compile our memories and moments together even though we're not meant for each other.

I sighed heavily and put down my phone so I could sleep.

Days went by and I never received a message from her. It was unsual because she always reminded me about her but this time I never had an update from her. I tried to wait for her in school but she was avoiding my presence.

I tried to ask my classmate who was her best friend but she never gave a word on me. It was really confusing. I always saw her looking at the trees of our school but it felt like I was longing for her presence. I was longing for her smiles and laughters.

"Uy Isaiah! Okay ka lang?" Tanong ni Carl habang nakatulala ako sa bintana ng classroom namin.

Ngumiti ako at 'di nagsalita. Umupo siya sa tabi ko at hinintay na may sabihin ako.

"Have you ever felt like crazy thinking about a woman?" I asked.

Narinig ko ang pagngisi niya. Alam ko kasi na isa siya sa pwede kong makausap.

"Oo naman! Yung tipong walang araw na 'di mo siya inisip? Yung tipong pati pag message niya inaabangan mo?"

"Yeah. I was like a crazy man who tried to avoid for falling on her," I stated.

"Mahirap yan, Pre! Mahirap umahon kapag hulog na hulog ka na."

And that was hitted me so hard. I never thought that I would be like this.

I remained silent. Mas lalo akong nababaliw dahil 'di niya ako pinapansin. Mas lalong nakakabaliw na bigla nalang nawala yung dating ugnayan namin.

"Ewan ko! Parang pinagsisihan ko na 'di siya pansinin, Pre! Kasi ako yung mas nahulog. Imbis na lumayo loob ko mas nahulog pa ako," sabi ko habang natatawa sa sarili kong kabaliwan.

Tumawa naman siya at saka inasar na lang ako. Buti na lang ay dumating na ang instructor namin bago pa ako tuluyang maiyak sa pagda-drama ko kay Carl.

Natapos ang friday nang hindi ko pa rin siya nakakausap nang maayos. Para kaming mga bata na nag-iiwasan kapag nagkikita sa hallway.

Dumaan ang sabado at hindi ko rin siya nakitang nakipagmeeting. Ngayon ko na sana balak humingi ng sorry at makipag-ayos sa kanya pero walang Thea na nagpakita.
