The Pain Behind The Smile

Chapter 8

"HI aunty." I greet Vinita aunty as i and Saumya walked in to their mansion. Finally, finally we are done with the shopping. Saumya hugged her and walked straight into kitchen. Even I am also famished.

Well who wouldn't be, it's 8:30 now and last I ate was just a burger at 2:30, after that haven't got time to feed my baby aka my tummy.

"HI sweetheart. Long time no see huh" She said and walked to me. We hugged each other.

As I said earlier. They are like my second family.

"Yeah. Sorry I  was busy with work." I answered sheepishly.

"Sweetheart I told you not to work so hard. Have some time for yourself." She said. I was about to

"Vinita, stop berating poor girl." Raghav uncle walked in to the living room from his study. I hugged him as well.

"How was the shopping" He asked.

"Very tiring" I replied and we all laughed.

"I knew Saumya will do this." Aunty said and laughed.

"After all she is your daughter." Raghav uncle teased her. She shake her head.

These two are the perfect goal for any couple. Aunty and uncle are together from last 48 years. She has been with him when was just a mere waiter and stuck by his side in days of his hustle. And look at them now, they are, still as strong as before and the love they have for each other has never die down but it has grown by each passing day. You can see in their eyes how much they love and adore each other.

"Sometimes I feel like, krish is more of your kid than me" we all turned our head to the source of the voice, Samyak.

"Jealous much" I teased him and he stuck his tongue out to me.

"You both can never grow up" Aunty said. "Come on dinner is ready" She said and we all walked to the dining table.

"I am famished" I said.

"Tell me something I don't know." Samyak muttered. I hit him on the arm. "Ouch" he said while rubbing his arm. I just smiled sarcastically and sat besides Saumya and he sat across me. Aunty served us food. Dinner with Chandra's on Saturday and Sunday has been a ritual for me from the time I started my job. And I never felt awkward with them but instead feel like a part of family.

We eat our dinner in silence until samyak decided to say something.

"Mom dad we need to discuss something with you after dinner." He told them.

"Okay. We will talk in my study" Uncle told.

My breath hitched at the thought of talking about getting married to Sam with his parents. What if they don't want us to get married for good because uncle said we only need to get married for the contract. what if aunty doesn't want me as her daughter in law. What if I am not what they want in their daughter I'm law. What if..

Suddenly someone put their hand on my hand and I looked up to see it was samyak. He is telling me calm down with his looks. I think he sensed my little panic attack. I took a deep breath and pulled my hand away. He was studying me very intensely I try to keep myself calm and nod at him as to tell him to not worry.

After getting done with dinner, I got up and put my dish on dishwasher.

Aunty walked in the kitchen. I offered her to help in cleaning but she refused and said I look way much tired so I should just go and sit. when I walked out of the kitchen Samyak was there waiting for me.
