ENDING EXPLAINED

Hi y'all!! I saw many of you were quite confused about the ending- which is totally cool btw!!!

Here's the ending explained:

The whole Nagito being put into a game to kill Kamukura was a mission Junko created in order to fill Chiaki with despair. It was purely a game that was made to break the 4th wall and force chiaki to watch the journey of the two boys succumbing to the despair.
However, they did not intend for Kazuichi and Chiaki herself to be glitched into the game. Chiaki was able to hack into the game and even allow Hinata and Nagito to stray from the game and have their own independent thoughts. As soon as Junko caught onto this, she patched and controlled Nagito to destroy any distractions from her original plan.

Nagito, was never real in the game. Like I mentioned: it was just purely to make Chiaki fall in despair. She tried her best to change the rules of the game. In the end, Hinata was able to take full control and put an end to the ending that Junko decided.

Junko wanted the game to end in torture and massacre in the whole foundation. She failed.

That doesn't mean she can't restart the game, though.
