I am still in the middle of fighting myself just to wake up when my eyes caught Papa on our sala. I was about to call him because he's just standing there when I saw what he's looking at!

Muntikan na akong mahulog sa hagdan dahil coat ni Jaehyun iyon noong Friday at talagang nakasampay sa sandalan ng sofa namin! Oh, my God, didn't I asked our kasambahay na itago nila iyon because Papa will surely see it!?

I wanted to grab it and hide behind me but that will lead to more suspicious in his eyes. He looked at me with such a blank slate and pointed at the coat. "Whose coat is this?" He asked, in his full authority tone.

I'm really dead. Ang daming puwedeng lagyan, dito pa sa sala na madaling makikita ni Papa?!

"Ah.." Hindi ako makaisip ng idudugtong. Shit. I need to come up with a lie now! I can't say the real thing to him!

He won't believe that that coat is from a creep stranger! "Whose coat is this, Caelene." He asked, again.

My kneed are trembling as I pray for myself to not stutter when I drop the lies I made up! If I see Jaehyun again, I will surely put that inside his mouth!

Napahamak pa ako! "It's Benson's, Pa."

His eyes studied me, like he always does when we're still at the US. Mas pinilit ko na kapani-paniwala ang sinasabi ko, I can't stand him caught me in lie, 'no!

"Really?" He grabbed it using his one finger. "This isn't smells like him," he declared.

My jaw just drops. Talagang inamoy niya at tanda niya kung anong amoy ni Benson noong nagkakilala sila?? Grabe talaga! "Huwag kang magsinungaling sa akin, anak. Kanino 'to?"

"Kay Benson nga, Pa! Hindi ba, madaling araw na kaming nakauwi?" I grab it from him. I wore it even it cringe me so hard but I need to. "I used this because I'm shivering in cold! Benson's just being judgmental, Pa."

"Then why is that still here?"

"Nakalimutan ko ibalik! Babalik ko na mamaya!" Sabi ko at nagdasal na sana he bought what I said.

One awkward silence until he finally give in. "Take it off and eat your breakfast." He commanded and back to his seat.

I almost prayed a lot of prayers when he didn't assume more. Before I put it down, I cursed it under my breath! Makita ko lang talaga si Jaehyun, I'll surely shove this in his throat! Pahamak!

I told Benson about what happened this morning. And this guy instead of siding me, he just laughed that his chair almost tripped! Bwisit, sinabi ko para may moral support ako sa kaniya but he just freaking laughed at me.

"You could've just told him the truth," he said when he finished laughing. Mabuti na lang walang Prof dahil may sudden meeting sila. One hour kaming walang Prof bago maglunch.

"And what? He'll trace whoever owns that coat? No way! Okay na, binili niya na ang reason ko!" I said, almost jumping from my seat.

Until now, the fear is still here. Dala ko iyong coat at nasa loob ng bag ko. Papa asked what for and sinabi ko na ibabalik ko na. Thank God hindi na siya nagsalita.

"It pays nothing to say truth," maliit niyang sabi habang iniikot ang mata sa paligid.

"I know but it's different when it comes to him." I glanced and smiled. "Only if you know him really well,"

That made him silent after. I'm just saying that truth. If he only knows what he did to my exes? He'll surely be like me, need to come up with excuses just to save everyone.
