"I'm starting to think na you and Jaehyun bribed the guards sa school para makapasok kayo." Iyon ang naisip ko na tanong para basagin ang katahimikan! Each of us are just idle on our seat, on the way to the mall!
Napunta sa akin ang tingin ng dalawa. Don remained his impassive as he put the phone in his ears for the nth time. And Mark, finally, chuckled to what I said.
"What are you talking about?" He asked.
"You know that the guards are not that easy to talk to para makapasok sa school." Sabi ko. "Pero paano kayo nakakapasok kung hindi naman kayo students sa UW?"
"Connections, Caelene. It's bad but it's useful to some of us." Don, answered in the middle of his call. Pinanliitan ko lang siya ng tingin.
"He's right! And don't forget that we invest and donate our moneys, Cae. Minsan na kaming tumulong sa UW. Lalo na noong bagyo." si Mark.
Nagkibit balikat ako. Ganoon na ba sila kayaman and they are just using their moneys to whatever they wanted? Kaya naman pala nakakapasok na sila sa school!
"It's impossible that Van never told you that," Mar said while chuckling. "Yeah. Kilala kami kaya nakakapasok kami."
Hindi ko na pinakinggan ang sinabi niya. What they said was enough. Nasagot na rin naman na ang tanong ko. But now, all I'm thinking was… then what are they doing here?
"Jaehyun's really out?" Gusto ko lang makasigurado.
"Hindi niya sinabi sa'yo?" Tanong nito.
"He did. It's just that, hindi ko alam kung bakit kayo naparito?" I asked with such confused tone. "Hindi naman sa ayaw ko kayo makita but it's just.. shocking."
"He called us to watch you over. I never knew that he's going with you every lunch and after work." Don answered. "I'm just gonna think this is fun."
"He's serious about Caelene, Laurent. Don't act like he's just doing this for some sake." Parang inis na sabi ni Mark.
Were they fighting? Pero saan? Bakit sila nag-aaway e tinanong ko lang naman sila kung bakit sila naparito? I'm just concern about them kasi pinagkaguluhan na naman sila kanina.
Pagdating namin sa mall, si Don ang nagsabi ng kakainan namin. I let him be kasi parang napilitan lang talaga siya ni Jaehyun na samahan si Mark sa akin ngayon.
"Don," tawag ko. "Ayaw mo ba akong kasama?"
"Huh?" His thick brows shot up.
"Para kasing hindi ka masaya na nandito ako." Deretso kong sabi. Ayoko lang talaga ng isang situation na nasa paligid ako ng mga taong napipilitan lang pala sa akin.
If they don't want me, they are free naman to walk away. It's making my heart hurt so much. "No. I like it but Jae's just wrong timing."
"Why?" I asked. "And if you have something to do, you could've just say no."
"No one can say no to Harrington except for his parents." He directly said. "Mark can prove that up."
Nagulat ang katabi ko sa pagbanggit ng pangalan niya. "Were you talking to me?"
Don just rolled his eyes. Natawa ako sabay tanong niya sa akin kung ano bang meron. Umiling lang ako para hindi na siya madamay pa. "He's treating you like a Queen. Like someone who needs a whole ass security around you."
"Maybe he has reasons?"
"Probably. Probably he wants you to not meet his parents." Hindi ko alam kung ano bang meron sa parents ni Jaehyun at ganito sila magsalita? Are they cruel enough to get a words like this?
