Chapter 41

"Can I just talk to her?"

"And why would I let you? Who are you anyway?" There's a long pause. "Ah. I've seen you before. You're with Caelene's bastard ex."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Sumulyap sa akin si Mark, umiwas lang ako ng tingin. "Cae, hindi ko alam ang nangyayari kaya ako pumunta rito."

"No need to play coy, whoever-you-are. Everyone that's related to her ex is off limits. You can get you ass off of here."

I'm not expecting Aliseo to pull me but he still did it. The next thing I knew ay malayo na kami sa building habang nakasunod sa amin si Benson.

That's only a short conversation of them yet I still feel the tension from it. What is Mark doing here? He still had the audacity to come here and act like he doesn't know what happened to me and Jaehyun?

Imposible. He's close to him, it's impossible that Jaehyun didn't tell him about his plans.

When I looked at Aliseo, he's catching his breath like he just got from a long run. Bumaba ang tingin ko sa kamay niya at nakita na nanginginig iyon.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked when we finally got out from the school.

He stopped from walking and stayed facing me with his back. "Yeah. Give me a minute."

Hindi ko alam kung bakit siya ganito pero hinayaan ko na lang. Binitawan na niya ako at napalingon uli ako sa loob ng school.

"Bakit kaya nagpunta iyon?" Biglang sulpot ni Benson sa likuran ko.

I shrugged. I don't know too. I'm not expecting him to see because I cut everything that can remember me of Jaehyun.

"You heard what he said? Hindi raw niya alam ang nangyari." He pouted. "Puwede kaya iyon? I mean, kaibigan siya ni Jaehyun, hindi ba?"

I casually nod my head and fix my hair. I'm still in the middle of shock. "Then how come he doesn't know what happened?"

"He's just pretending he didn't know." We looked at Aliseo who's more calm now. "He said that so he can go near at Caelene."

"What if he's not?" There's a brief silence occured after what I said. Doon ko lang narealize na mali pala iyong nasabi ko and it sounds like I'm saving him.

No one saved me even from one of them, maybe my guts are right. They knew what happened.

Walang nagsalita pagkatapos, "Let's not talk about it, okay?" He said after the long silence. "Salamat sa ginawa mo,"

Sumaludo si Benson sa kaniya. Somehow, it lighten my mood. Or our mood since Aliseo laughed, too. "That's fine. She's my friend so it's my job to do it."

Nagpaalam na siya dahil pupuntahin niya raw ang girlfriend niya. Aliseo insisted na ihatid namin siya pero hindi na raw kailangan.

"He's really your friend?" Aliseo asked while watching the taxi go away from us.

"Yes. Siya una kong nakilala noong umuwi kami rito, I met him here." Tinuro ko iyong kainan ng mother ni Benson. Namiss ko tuloy kumain doon.

Gusto ko sana but I know she's gonna ask about Jaehyun or why I'm with other guy. I doubt if she knew about it, huwag na lang pumunta para huwag na magkaproblema.

"Shall we eat now?" He paused. "I'm hungry just by talking to him,"

"You sounds so angry at him,"

"I have reasons, though."

"We?" Tumawa ako. "Still, thank you. You don't know him pero nalaman mo na may masama."

Nagtataka man kung paano niya nahimigan na hindi ako dapat makalapit kay Mark, hinayaan ko na lang. Baka sinabihan siya ni Papa or whatever.
