Chapter 13

Days passed like a sudden lightningbolt. Which is unusual because when we're still in States, laging mabagal ang oras. But the slowness of the days are something that I'm really anticipating, with that is I can spend more time with my friends.

Since we're here na sa Philippines, ang bilis na ng oras. Parang kahapon lang ay pasukan namin at kakakilala ko pa lang kay Benson tapos ngayon.. may girlfriend na siya.

"Kailan natin makikita girlfriend mo?" Wala kaming Prof ngayon sa hindi malamang dahilan kaya siya ang binubulabog ko ngayon.

Lumipat siya sa tabi ko habang kausap ang girlfriend niya. Tutal Jaehyun's not replying to my messages na, baka busy na rin iyon kaya siya na lang kakausapin ko.

Benson's hair grew longer than the first time. But somehow, it suits him kaya okay lang. Sumulyap siya saglit sabay ngisi. "Bakit?"

"Anong bakit? Masama ba makita ko girlfriend mo?" Singhal ko. "At saka para makita na ni Aling Tess, 'no! Baka until now, tayo pa rin ship 'non!"

Humalakhak siya sa narinig. Tama lang naman ako. I still wonder if she's thinking that were both dating when she's seeing naman na kasama ko si Jaehyun lagi.

And it's imposibble naman kung hindi niya nakikita ang anak niya na may kausap na iba sa phone?

"Sira. But soon. She's still busy kaya.." He shrugged. "soon.." Inangat niya ang phone at nakita ko ang litrato ng girlfriend niya! And hell, mas maganda pa siya kaysa sa akin!

Now I can picture what would be Aling Tess reaction if she saw her, mas maganda pa kaysa sa akin at mas bagay sa anak niya! She should learn that Benson and I are just friends.

Natahimik na uli kami dahil kausap na naman niya ang girlfriend niya thru call. I grabbed my airpods and just put some music while typing a message to Jaehyun.

He didn't reply to my question if pupunta ba siya rito mamayang lunch or mamayang hapon na? Para lang alam ko dahil wala akong kasabay na kumain.

Habang tumatagal ang school year, mas dumadami ang priorities ng lahat kaya hindi na nakakasama ang iba. But to tell the truth, may boyfriends na kasi sila.

I have Jaehyun now but the thing is, he's really far from me. Iyong mga boyfriends ng mga kaibigan ko ay kadalasan katabing building lang o ibang course. That's better kasi nagkikita sila lagi.

I'm not making a reklamo naman, naiintindihan ko naman si Jaehyun. Sometimes, he's telling me how much he loves his business kaya I'm trying to go with the flow.

He said he really love that because that's one of the main reason of his money pero nagawa niyang mangako na isasawalang bahala niya iyon para sa akin.

Yes, I'm furious about that pero to think na.. Ah! Basta nakakakilig!

When lunch came, five minutes before the bell rings, I received a call from Jaehyun. He's saying that he'll be late and meet me na lang sa puwesto ni Aling Tess.

I said okay because it seems like his work is really important today. I do want to tell him na huwag na siyang pumunta if he's really working today but I'm afraid na makakuha ng sermon sa kaniya.

What he said is what he really said.

Mag-isa lang ako na naglalakad palabas ng school, I can't help but to notice the building of College of Law. Unline from our building, and to others, the whole structure was filled with cimmerian aura.

Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit. Every time we passed by it, nakakunot lahat ng noo ng mga students na lalabas o aakyat sa mga rooms nila.

That's why I never wanted to be a lawyer. They say it is really a battle of mind over matter. Thank God, Papa is not pushing me to something that I really don't want.
