Ophelia's stare didn't leave the candle, transfixed by it's destructive beauty. She reached out and allowed the flame to scald her wrist, but she didn't feel it. She felt a sting, but it was just nothing to how she felt on the inside.

She felt as though a snake had taken residence within her and its grip on her vital organs was tightening by the day. She wanted desperately for this chapter to come to an end.

Ophelia no longer liked Andrew. He had been sweet but he seemed to have shifted over night. After he had proposed and proclaimed she could never leave him she felt as though she could not breathe.

She looked to the door of her flat as a knock came,

"Darling? Is that you?" She called, turning to the door,

"Ophelia, open the door," Said Lolita and there was a tremor in her voice, "Lia, please,"

"Lolita, what is it?" She asked, and she opened the door to see Lolita practically hyperventillating, "Come here," Ophelia pulled her into the apartment, and held Lolita tightly, "What is it?"

"She's dead, mi mama, es muerte," Said Lolita, holding onto Ophelia, "I-I can't believe he would kill her,"

"Who killed her?" Asked Ophelia, running her hands over Lolita's back,

"Grindelwald, he did it personally," She cried,

"Why?"

"I told her where we were," Said Lolita, "I can't believe you forgave me for what I did,"

"You didn't have a choice," Said Ophelia, pulling her to the couch, "I can understand, hell I'm getting married in three weeks to a man who doesn't know my name,"

"Ophelia, I lo- what is that?" Asked Lolita spotting the burn on her wrist, and holding it out,

"Nothing," Said Ophelia, and Lolita looked at her and pulled up her sleeve to see bruises in the shape of fingerprints,

"Is he hurting you?" Asked Lolita,

"Lita, there isn't anything I can do, and he's just a little rough in the sack," Said Ophelia,

"Lia, what are we going to do?" Asked Lolita,

"Drink?" She suggested, and Lolita pulled a flask out of her skirt pocket, "Lita, I love you right now,"

"Right back at you," Said Lolita as Ophelia took a generous slug of the alcohol, before passing it to her,

"You know? I never really pictured myself getting married, until Tom, and now I am onto husband number two and neither of them are Tom." Said Ophelia as Lolita drank the extremely strong alcohol,

"I never pictured myself getting married," Said Lolita, "Spending my life with someone sure, but married, never."

"I get that," said Ophelia, "It's like that thing with frog butts," and then she was laughing, taking another slug of alcohol,

"Frog butts?" Asked a now giggling Lolita,

"Yeah, it's different stuff but it all comes out of the same hole, the love hole," said Ophelia and then they both burst out laughing, "That came out so wrong,"

"Are you sure?" Asked Lolita, "You sounded like you meant it,"

"Lita, if society doesn't take us back, and our friends and family turn their backs on us, promise you'll stay with me," said Ophelia,

"I promise," said Lolita and Ophelia hugged her again,

Lolita was gone on assignment leaving a delicate Ophelia in her wake. Andrew was playing the piano as Ophelia read her book,
