Aria is the eldest resident at a secluded compound, raised alongside a class of genetically superior children. The treatments she is given make her stronger, faster and smarter than any normal person, but she is not allowed to leave and her whole life has been planned out for her. She is unhappily matched to Blake for the next generation, but she finds hope when Nima, an unaltered 21-year-old girl, is introduced into the program. Aria is drawn to her and soon the two share feelings the program does not allow. Aria tries to help Nima survive the treatments she's undergoing, but no one of Nima's age has ever survived. Worst of all, if Aria's mother, Dr. Seki, finds out about their love, the consequences will cost both Aria and Nima their lives.
