shadow woman by the growlers

finn walked down the streets of his village, glancing every few few steps at the top of
houses to find her. she was always late.

the flutter of wings sounded in the distance,
yet not to far. he could see her shadow forming.
finn ran towards her with anticipation.

y/n smiled at him, perched on the street light.
her eyes glowed yellow with glee, following him as he stood right below her. she wasn't allowed near the villagers, yet she followed her own heart. she was a natural runner, never actually trying to find a way into trouble.

"step into the light." he gleamed from below.

she did, her body shimmering a greyish green. her horns sat on her head pointed up as her wings glowed brighter than any light finn had seen. a flower crown made of daisies, violets and ghost orchids on her head and a loose silk dress that ended at her knee.

she was gorgeous.

y/n was what finn called a shadow woman
because she always came at night
from the shadows.

his village called her a monster, having mistaked her for a larger creature that
comes and kills their livestock.

she was the result of a disgusting romance between a gargoyle and nymph, as shown in
her horns, wings and skin.

"hello again." she smiled.

"i remember that one time we played hide
and seek and you hid in the town shrine.
i could see you perfectly because you glowed."
finn laughed, walking around the field
with his hand in hers.

"at least i made it easy and didn't fly
up onto a rope like a cat." y/n grinned.

finn smiled as they sat down in the dark field.
she was the only source of light for miles.
they sat in silence for a while, only admiring the other in front of them.

"your secrets safe with me." finn stared into her eyes, watching as they gleamed yellow.

"i know." y/n nodded.

they leaned it slowly, finn gliding his hand behind her neck and pulling her in softly.
their lips connected and they felt the heat in
their hearts grow, as did their feelings.

shadow woman,
lead me through the night.
don't ever leave me alone.

aspen!
idk i wanted to make a mythical kinda thing
where finn was a human who's village was visited every night by y/n :/
