With Riff:

The male Rock Troll was sitting in the dark of his living room, thinking.

He had no idea what to do, or where to go.

He just felt like leaving Volcano Rock City since the only thing he loved was taken away from him, and he can no longer do it.

He sighed, looking around the room.

He lived on his own, having left his parents so he could work with Queen Barb, getting the extra credit he needed to graduate.

Which turned out to be a waste of time in the end.

He had no idea how his parents were doing, having not spoken to them since he left.

He felt guilty about doing it, but he knew that they were probably alright.

He looked over at the guitar his father had given him before he left, having kept it hanging on the wall beside the sofa.

It was a horned exotic black metal axe guitar.

Like most Rock Trolls, Riff knew how to play the guitar, but he chose the drums instead since he enjoyed them more.

Taking a deep breath and sighing, Riff stood up and walked over to it, picking it up and strumming it.

It was still in tune, just like he left it.

What else could he do?

He could go back and work with Barb as one of her guitarists, but most of them played backstage as extras.

This also begged the question.

Who’s going to replace him as the drummer?

Surely not Sid Fret or Carol. The two were good, but they were always too lazy to play the drums properly like Riff did.

The drums just suited him more than playing the guitar.

Riff sighed, thinking.

If he was going to leave, where would he go?

The Pop Trolls were always so cheerful and happy. They would welcome him instantly, but they could get a little too…annoying at times. Not that there was anything wrong with them, Riff just thought they weren’t the best Trolls to go to after losing everything. And Pop Troll Village had become a place where some of the Trolls from the other tribes had gone to live, so it was a little more crowded there than it used to.

The Techno Trolls mostly lived underwater, and Riff had no idea how he would be able to go there without drowning. Sure, the Rock Trolls had been inside the Anglerbuses at the time, but he didn’t want to take an Anglerbus, he wanted to take his Motorbug. If there was anyway he could breathe underwater, he would, but until then he would have to pass.

The Funk Trolls would be really supporting, but they probably wouldn’t be too happy to have him in the Vibe City UFO after the World Tour incident. He had snuck in and unplugged their power supply, which opted them to get a backup system, in case they lose power like last time. He could tell that there were a few who still hated him for that, but he had only done it to help the Rock Trolls.

The Classical Trolls were kind and would welcome him like the Pop Trolls would, but Riff had a feeling that some would be afraid, since he had helped Barb destroy their village. He felt bad about destroying Symphonyville and Techno Reef more than the others, since the two tribes didn’t even stand a chance against the Rock Trolls, the Techno Trolls having choosen not to fight back.

And then there was Lonesome Flats, where everyone mostly kept to themselves and enjoyed singing songs about work and hardship. They were used to all the sorrow and misery, and they would probably understand the pain he felt more than the other tribes would.
