Against All Odds

I'll be waiting for you

Tyron groaned turning to hold his source of warmth. He wasn't there. He slowly opened his eyes and saw him standing by the window. He stood and went to him.

"Can't sleep?" He asked wrapping his arms around his waist.

"Yeah." Markus said sighing at the warmth provided by his mate.

"What's wrong?" Tyron asked placing his chin on his shoulder.

"The barrier won't hold for long. I can see them, they want me and Jack. Jayden too." Markus sighed. "What if it works now? What if I loose myself and kill everyone, you? What if I loose myself and you get scared of me? I want you to feel safe with me, not being scared of me."

"Markus?" He hummed. "I'm here. I'll never leave you, I'll never get scared of you. I'll help you out. You won't loose control of yourself as long as I stay here." He lifted his hand and pressed it on his chest. "When ever you feel you are loosing yourself, look at me okay. I won't let you go. I promise."

"Really?" Markus turned and hid his face in Tyron's shoulder. Tyron nodded. "I'm scared."

"You shouldn't be. I'm your protector remember? I'll do my job and we'll be together in the long run okay?" Markus nodded. "I love you."

"Hold me tonight." Tyron moved back to the bed with his hands still around Markus. He laid down with Markus who didn't want to let go. Tyron slowly played with his hair.

"Sleep my love. I'll be here." Tyron said and Markus drifted off to sleep but Tyron didn't. What was Markus scared of? What does he know that he doesn't? He kissed his hair.

Everyone was awake after the blast that had occurred and met at the meeting room. Tyron stayed close to Markus making sure he didn't loose the sight of him. Calvin was also glued to Victor who wasn't complaing actually enjoying the spotlight.

"The barrier will break in around 15 minutes now." Sky said. "Hunter and Berry are still outside the barrier but they can't cover the whole palace so, we have to get ready."

"What about the demons?" Victor asked looking at the plan. "I don't think it's a good idea to place my dad and I in the same place as Jack and Jayden."

"Why do you say so?" Trevor asked.

"These areas are where the portals are right?" Everyone nodded as he pointed at the map. "I can't be the same place as Jayden at this spot, it's a possible hotspot for the demon king and his followers. They know they can control us."

"Okay. So what do you think?" Sky asked rubbing off a writing with her finger.

"I have a feeling they know controlling me is controlling Jayden. If the Lycan in me goes out of control, so does the beast. I am not going to be anywhere close to Jayden. I'll be on the other side where he wouldn't get my orders."

"Who'll control Jayden?" Xavier asked. He was much more worried about Jack and Jayden.

"He'll stay with Calvin." Calvin turned to him quick. He wasn't sure if he heard the right words. "And his mates." Before he could get words out, Markus spoke.

"I'm with Victor in this. He's right. Us being with the both of you will bring chaos this time. It's the safest way." He turned to Jack who was holding Petunia on his lap. "Lucien, you will now listen to every order Tyron gives you."

"No." Tyron cut him off. He didn't like the idea too.

"Don't worry Tyron." Sky said. "He'll be safe with us. We will protect them both. They are right. The demons want to use Jack and Jayden and to get them through, they have to get Markus and Victor."
