Avery's POV

"So what have you been so occupied and busy with that discouraged you from talking to me" he said while taking a seat.

"I didn't mean to but I just didn't want to worry you and you had other things to thing about" I said

"Since when did that start bothering you?" He questioned

"Its funny hearing this from my childhood best friend that not even university distance could stop . The same person that whenever she was in a bad mood would get herself drunk, have a heavy hangover the next day and call me to vent out her frustrations and this same person  would disturb me by 5:00a.m in the morning knowing how much I value my beauty sleep" he said

"That was when we were in the university; things have changed now* I said in my defense which wasn't convincing.

He rolled his eyes then smiled at me

"Let's quit this argument which we can deal with that later and start telling me every single action I missed out on" he said

I smiled a little and asked "Aren't you hungry?"

"Not really; I had lunch with Mia before I ran to your house so I'm okay, now start!" He said impatiently

'Okay' I sighed then continued

"I almost lost my job a few weeks ago" I said

"What? Why?" He asked in shock

"Let's just say my colleague decided to show her true colors............

I told him all that happened at the office, how I reacted and Mr Umar's decision.

"I can't believe Mia and Zara hid this from me" he said slightly disappointed

"They did it because I asked them not to. it was best you heard it from me" I said

"But i'm still surprised, Zara out of boredom would make me listen to all her latest gossip and this case didn't slip from her mouth"

I couldn't help but laugh "What kind of human being are you"

"The type that is patiently waiting for more actions he missed out on" he said

"Is there anything else?"

"Yes, but please don't be mad" I said

"Stop keeping me in suspense" he said

"I saw I.B twice this week"

He had a mixed reaction on his face then said something

"And what happened between you two" he asked out of curiosity

"Nothing much but it was weird. I took a walk then he followed me like a creep till we got to my house; I finally saw who he was plus he started apologizing to me for everything he had done in the past and how he would make it up to me" I said noticing the look on Ziri's face then continued

"Plus he also met me at the Barbeque area eating Bole and remembering my family moments, we started talking about them before  I rushed off"

He looked pissed off but decided to forget about it.

"Is that all?" He asked

"I'm trying to remember" I chuckled

"Who's ride is outside?" He asked grinning

"Surprise" I said in a very silly way that got him looking at me as if I was crazy or lost a screw in my head.

I'm so sorry, I completely forgot about it and that was one of the reasons I didn't 't want you coming yesterday" I said
