After the incident II

Avery's POV

I sat in front while Ziri and Mia sat at the back. They were both occupied with each other's presence; Ziri was teasing Mia, frustrated Mia was blushing at his actions and hitting him slightly still cautious of the condition Ziri was care free about. They were both busy while there was an awkward tension between I.B and I. I didn't even plan on talking to him and I needed to get ready for my meeting.

We dropped Ziri and Mia at the swimming area then he went straight to my apartment. On the way he finally broke the silence

"So is that his cousin or??"

"That's his girlfriend" I answered

"Oh" he said as he stopped at my apartment. As I got down from the car, he held my hand and said

"I'm so sorry"

"Its okay" I said as I quietly but briskly walked towards my house.

I quickly put on a pair of blue jeans, a white T shirt a blue hoodie, my flats and my shoulder bag containing my second phone ID and ATM cards and got to my car.

I got there a few minutes to 7 and applied a litle makeup before going into the hotel.

"What took you so long" Allan said as I sat beside him.

"I came in a few minutes before 7 is there anything wrong?" I said giving him a weird look.

"Where are our employers?" I asked

"Somewhere in the horizon" he said dryly as I hit him in annoyance and laughed as he also joined.

I.B's POV

I started recalling what happened this evening especially the incident in the car.

It was so weird a few hours ago we were having fun and getting closer then someone ruins it and when we're given another opportunity the moment gets ruined by yours truly.

At the car I noticed how much Ziri and his girlfriend were enjoying each other's company. I loved their relationship; it made me relieved at the same time jealous.

I was relieved because he and Avery weren't dating; he was head over heels for her back in high school and I was jealous because he was in a happy relationship and had Avery and I was the reason I lost someone like her in my life.

It's been over 7 years since we all graduated and I still see him as a competition. When he got hurt in the pool a part of me wanted him to bleed to death but as a normal human being I had a conscience so he was taken to the hospital using my car but that action cleared my suspicions and gave me a little hope.

In the car the silence between Avery and I was deadly. I wanted to tease her, joke and kiss her the way Ziri was with his girlfriend. What is wrong with me?

She obviously didn't want to talk to me and I knew part of the reason was what I did to her in secondary school and I never told her what made me do it. Even if I tell her it won't change the hatred she has for me.

I didn't realize when I grabbed her arm and said "Im so sorry"

She was quiet at first then said "its okay" as she walked to her apartment.

"Welcome sir" said that house keeper as I walked in.

"Thank you; please send my dinner upstairs" I said

'Okay sir'

I had my dinner and went through my texts

Dave: Mehn today was crazy

Danny: I'm telling you what's more funny than watching a cat fight all because of a guy. I.B 🙇🙇🙇

Tony: True . The annoying part was that someone's head got broken during the process and it wasn't even one of the women 🤦

Dave: Its true. I wasn't really surprised though I.B is a lady's guy🙌

Tony:😂

Danny:😂😂

Me: Aren't you guys tired?

Danny: Why should we

Dave: The fight went viral oh 😂

Me: What?

She isn't going to like this one bit

Me: Who posted it and where?

Dave: One Nicky guy like that and it doesn't show much its just both of them dragging each other's hair and falling into the pool that's all.

I tried calling her but her phone wasn't going through; I called several times but no success.

Avery's POV

This meeting was tiring me out and I was dreading for the meeting to be over but luck wasn't on my side.

"What wore you out ttoday?" Allan asked as I snapped back to reality

"Its a long story" I replied

"Thank you all for your time Mr Akunna and Miss Idara you both are on duty this night, the rest of you are dismissed" the manager said as he left

"Finally" I said

"Care to share" he asked

"Yeah it all started-" I was interrupted by a phone notification as Allan checked his phone then chuckled

"What's up?" I asked

"You know Nicky 5934 right?" he asked

"The latest gossip account on Instagram? Yes I do. Why do you ask?"

"Well I'm one of his gossip lovers and he just posted a new one about two women but I'll watch it later" he said

"Oh okay" I replied

I told him the story.......

"Wow, so because of a stupid misunderstanding and a guy you guys fought brutally resulting to your best friend's head getting hurt"

"Yes that's the summary of the whole thing"

He suddenly burst into laughter and tried talking "I'm so sorry its just hilarious" he said as he continued laughing

I let out a small laugh then said
"Whatever, I have to go I'm dead hungry" as I walked to my Car.

I bought fast food and went home. I cahnged into my night wear then watched TV and ate while thinking of what happened. I called Ziri to check on him

"She misses me!!"

"No I don't"

"I love you too"

"You want Mia to kill me over there right?"

"That's her business. 'Ouch' Hi Avy!

"Hi Mia! How are you!" I said

"I'm better than ever right Mia?" Ziri answered for her

" That's nice to know" I said

"I can give you details if you want" I cpuld feel him smirking over the phone

"No I'm good" I said

"Okay goodnight!"

"Goodnight"

I had missed calls from I.B so I called and he picked up immediately

"Hello?"

"Check up Nicky 5934 on Instagram!"

"Why?"

"Just do it its better you find out yourself".
