"A million dollar!" Arien exclaimed.
"How would I get it in just a week?"

"Since you can't pay me million dollar you can agree to my condition. Without paying, you are not allowed to leave this place." Devian chuckled.

Her intuitions told her that the condition he would put forward is not going to be a good one.

"I'll try my best to pay you within a week." She spoke out confidently, hiding the waves of emotion stirring in her heart. Yet she was unable to suppress it.

"Is that so?" He saw through her mind but didn't expose her. "I'll wait then."

He kept the file back to the shelf and was about to walk out of the room when Devian heard her saying, "Can I please borrow your phone, I want to look over some jobs."

He took out his spare phone and passed it to her.

...

In the living room.

"President Lyle, if she would be able to pay you the money, how would you put forward the condition?" Special assistant Dean Rian asked with utmost respect.

"I'm afraid she would not be able to!" Devian said jokingly.

Arien sat on the couch surfing the internet searching jobs. Suddenly her eyes lit up. An advertisement popped up about a famous designing competition.
She remembered she got a form from the bag two days ago which was half filled. There were two designs attached to the form under which her name was signed. She took out the form from the drawer near the bed and started filling it. Not long after she became dejected again.

Art can't be separated from the artist even if the soul is taken away. But...

She doesn't remember how long has she been designing. She didn't know how to fill almost all of the columns of the form.

"How will I do it?" She sighed and kept the form aside.

Will she not be able to pay back and leave this place? She asked herself.

It is impossible to earn a million in just a week. Seems like this condition has been deliberately put forward by the Young Master Lyle. Isn't it?

Next day she woke up early. As usual her dress was prepared and brought by aunt Anne. She dressed herself and went to the dining room. But today it was different. Devian sat on the dining table. He motioned Arien to sit opposite to him.

The two of them sat opposite to each other eating their meals. Neither of them spoke.

Arien glanced at Devian from time to time. His physique was well build from afar and it look even majestic when looked closely. He ate his meal elegantly without making a sound.

Arien opened her mouth from time to time but gulped her words back at last.

After breakfast Arien asked cautiously "Can I go out?" Biting her her lips, eager to get the answer.

Devian raised his eyebrows.
"Why?"

He emitted a cold aura that can make people shudder.

"Don't get me wrong. I'm not running away. I wanna go out... In search of a job."
Arien spoke each word slowly and cautiously. "I have to pay you back so as to leave this place."

Devian nodded and didn't ask further questions.

After getting the answer Arien's eyes showed a bright smile.

"Oh...OK then I'll leave first." Saying these words she got up and left.

Devian stared at her departing figure. Until she was no more in his sight only then he retracted his gaze back. He dialed a number "How's the investigation going?"

"We will soon know the person behind the fire." assistant Dean's voice came from the other side of the phone.

"Okay. Make it quick" Devian hung up the phone.

...

Arien came out of the house. At first she was confused where to go. She took out the phone that Devian gave her and entered the address written in the designing form.

The place was not far, 30 minutes by walking and 10 minutes by car. She waved her hand and stopped the cab.

Standing outside the tall building she sighed, put on a beautiful smile on her face and walked inside. It's interior was beautiful but it didn't look like a designing company. She had no memories of her past but she still looked confident.

Definitely she was not familiar with anything here. She walked to the reception.

"I'm Arien Jenner and here for an interview."

"Miss Jenner, 21st floor, first room at the left." The lady smiled and answered.

"Thank you." Arien entered the lift and pressed for the 21st floor. She walked out of the lift and saw a familiar figure.

A man dressed in a custom made black suit, followed by a group of people walking with folders in their hand each one seriously reporting work matters, entered a room.

Arien looked in the direction with a daze.
"He!"

She is hallucinating. How could he be here!

Arien walked towards the door and knocked. Only after she heard "Come in" she pushed the door open.

Devian surrounded by many people with serious look sat on the chair. He looked at Arien and gestured the others to leave. Soon after in the room it was only Devian and Arien left. The room was deadly silent. It was so hushed that they could hear each others breathing.

For a moment they looked at each other as if they were lost.

"I'm here for an interview." Her soft voice brought him back to reality.

"You would pay me like this?" Devian spoke mockingly. For a moment Arien was in a daze. She didn't understand what he meant to say.

Devian continued "You don't have money so are you thinking of paying me back by other way? You could ask me for that at home. Why do you have to come here?" There was a devilish smile I'm his eyes.

"What the heck. You are so disgusting. I'm here for the job interview." Arien was disgusted with this thought of him.

"Really!" Devian frowned slightly.

"Bastard! How could you even think that. How miserable!" She walked out after saying those words. She didn't wanted to work under this bastard. She would never work under him!

...

After wandering for the whole afternoon Arien was completely pissed off, unable to get the job. It was almost 6 in the evening. It would get dark in an hour or two.

Where should she go now. She would never return back to that bastard's house. His thoughts were so disgusting.
