Valentina's P.O.V

"RUN!" I yell at Celeste.

She's my best friend and the only one who is still alive. We were being chased by a few runners and clickers.

"Get in here!" She says holding up a garage door.

I quickly crawl inside and hold it up for her to get in. Once she is inside I let the door go making a loud sound.

"Holy shit that was close." Celeste says running her fingers through her hair.
"Too close." I add.

I look around grabbing whatever I find.

Then we hear the noises coming from behind the large and tall shelf.

"What on earth is that?" Celeste blurts out and aiming her gun towards the shelf.

A Bloater came out of hiding from behind the shelf.

"Fuck." I mumbled as I ran away from the green substance it was throwing.

Both Celeste and I were giving it the best we could until a few runners and clickers ran our way. About 15 minutes pass by and us still trying to defeat the huge Bloater that was right in front of us, a runner ran towards Celeste making her unaware of the Bloater, it catches her and puts it's hands on her upper teeth set and bottom. It then pulls apart from each other making her jaw snap the opposite way it's supposed to be.

"Celeste!" I yell at the top of my damn lungs.

I shiv the runner and without thinking run out if there. I keep running away from the scene. As tears fill my eyes it's hard to see and i trip over the thick snow and fall on the side ox my face.

Joel's P.O.V

Tommy and I were heading back to camp when the horses suddenly stop in their tracks.

"Something ain't right." I say as i get off of my horse.

Tommy does the same and looks forward,"Joel look!" Tommy points at a body laying on the ground.

"Is she alive?" Says.
"Let's find out." I say turning the body over.

She's just laying there.

"Let's take her back to camp and have her checked out." Tommy breaks the silence.

24 mins later

Ellie's P.O.V

"She was found laying on the pure cold snow." I hear someone say.
"Is she dead or alive?"
"Who knows."

Who the hell are they talking about?

I decide to go to the mini playground where Dina is.

"Hey Dina!" I shout for her.
"Ellie hey!" Dina says standing up,"I'm tapping out guys."
"Again!?" The kids groan.
"Yes again." Dina says then walks to me.
"You playing with them again?" I question.
"Yea. Poor kids need a distraction." She says.
"You're right. Uh hey have you heard about what the people have been saying?"
"About the girl who's been found?"
"Yea. Her."
"Joel came back with her behind him when they got back.
"Oh."
"Oh. I almost forgot, Joel wanted to talk to you."
"About?"
"I don't fucking know." Dina chuckles.
"Right. Well I'll go look for him then."
"Alright. You still coming over to watch that movie?"
"Uh yea."
"Okay. Just making sure. See you later."
"See ya later." I say them jog back to Joel's place.

I get there 5 minutes later.
*Knock knock*

"Hey Joel!"
"What is it." Joel says as he opens the door.
"Um you wanted to talk to me?"
"Oh right. I want you to meet someone."
"Why me?"
"Because i chose you."
"Wow that explains pretty much nothing!"

Joel laughs at my "joke" even tho it wasn't.

"Walk with me." He says as he grabs his jacket.

I scoff and follow behind him.

"Care to explain Joel?"
"Yea. Today Tommy and I went out and when we were on our way back the horses stopped so we checked it out. Long story short, we found a girl laying in the way."
"Oh."

After a while of walking we eventually get to the clinic we have.

"There she is." Joel stops in front if a room

I look in and see a girl in bed.
"Well. What do you want me to do?"
"Hang out with her while I'm gone."
"I don't even know her how-" i get cut off by Joel
"Just do it."
"Fine."
"Take it easy on her. We don't know anything about her yet."

Joel walks away and I step in the room. I look at the girl and observe her.

Brown hair. Clear skin. Long lashes. The girl's pretty.

She shifts and opens her eyes. In a swift move she pulls me in and holds me in a choke hold.

"Who the hell are you and why am i here!" She yells.
"I'm Ellie! We found you in the snow so we took you in.

She let me go and tears filled her eyes. Brown beautiful eyes.

Valentina's P.O.V

Celeste.. Oh my god.
I curled up in a ball and cried my eyes out.

"Are you okay?" The unfamiliar girl gets closer to me.
"I just need time. Get out." I say as i cover my face with my hands.

Ellie i think was her name walks out and i continue my crying.

5 minutes later she walks back in.
"Are you feeling better?"
"Something like that."
"Why don't you come back to my place?"

I don't know if i can trust her.

"Okay." I can take care of myself.

"Follow me."
