Ellie's P.O.V

"Someone wants to see you Val." I turn to Valentina
"Who?"
"Maria. She kinda runs things around here."
"Like a boss?"
"More like the government."
"I see."

We walk for about 6 minutes until we get there.

Valentina's P.O.V

"Hello Valentina." A woman around her thirty's greets me with open arms.
"You know my name. Hi." I shake her hand.

Too much hand shaking

"Nice to see you. Can i have you full name?"
"My full name?"
"Yes."

Thing is i don't know my last name. It's just been my middle name. Stone.

"Look here's the thing. I don't know my full name. It's just my first then middle name."
"That totally fine honey."
"Okay. Valentina Stone."
"Cool middle name." Ellie says behind me.
"Thanks."
"Okay. All set. You can go."
"That's it?" I say. So short
"That is all."

"Oh. Okay. Nice meeting you Maria."
"Same to you."

Both Ellie and I turn around and walk away.

"What you think of her?"
"She seems nice."
"That's all?"
"I only met her for like three minutes."
"Good point."
"What now?"
"You know Jesse?"
"The one at the door?"
"Yea. He's Jesse."
"He's cute." I say
"He's okay." Ellie responds looking at her tattoo.
"Is it fine if i can take a little nap?"
"No. Not at all. Lay down in my bed."
"You sure?"
"It's fine."

Ellie helps me get in her bed and she also tucks me in.

"Thank you."
"Yea."

I turn to my side and face the window next to bed. I look outside and see snow dripping off the leaves of the pine trees.
I close my eyes and drift off.

Ellie's P.O.V

I sit on a chair and scoot in my desk. I look at my recent drawings then turn to Valentina. She looks so peaceful and beautiful. Just the thought of us about to kiss makes me feel butterflies. Something about her makes me feel that way. I can't help it.

I turn my attention to my book full of drawings. I flip to a clean page and draw.

Valentina's P.O.V

I wake up and move to the side. Then *plop*
"Valentina are you okay?" I hear Ellie run to me.
"Aw shit." I say rubbing my hip.

Ellie helps me up and sits me on her bed.
"Were you having a bad dreams?"
I nod.
"I hate those." Ellie says scoffing.

I was dreaming about Celeste. I miss her so much. She had to go brutally.

*Knock knock*

"Who?"
"It's Jesse."

Ellie stood up and opened the door.

"Got some news."
"What is it now?"
"Got reports on infected."
"Again? Where do those things come from?
"Meet you in the horses stables."
"Alright."

Ellie closed the door then went to get her jacket.
"You want to come?"
"Can i go?"
"Yea you can. We just have to inform Maria."
"Oh okay."

Ellie hands me one of her light blue jackets and i put it on. Then go out the door.

"Remember, clear out any infected you see. Run into anything you can't handle come back." Jesse says making hands motions
"Got it." I say with a shaky breath.
"You'll be fine." Ellie puts a hand on my shoulder.
"Hope you are right."
"Dina you're with me. Ellie and Valentina go together." Jesse says getting on his horse.

"Sweet. I'm with you." I say making a big smile.
"Good."

Ellie helps me on my horse.
"Thanks."
"Yup." She says getting on her horse.

Ellie's P.O.V

I may or may not have told Jesse tp put Valentina with me. I'm glad she'll be with me.

We rode our horses to my normal route. Once we make it to where the book is I'll show her the amazing view

"Tie you horse here." I tell Valentina
"Okay." She does as told.
"Follow me."

Valentina follows me from behind. I just aim my gun in front of me just if something pops up and surprises us.
"All clear in here."
"Phew."
"Come. I'll show you how we are supposed to sign in."

I show Valentina and makes an "O" with her mouth.
"You got it?"
"Yup."
"Wanna see something breathtaking."
"Duh!"
"Come here."

I walk to an open area where the balcony is in the perfect position for the perfect view.

"Is that the camp?" Valentina points at our town.
"Yea. Pretty cool huh?"
"This is amazing. You were right."
"Pfft. Of course i was." I say proudly.
"This was nice. Do we need to head back now?"
"Um yes we should."
I back away from the view and walk back to our horses. Then I hear clickers

"Perfect timing." I whisper
"I hate these things."
"Me too."

I sneak up on one from behind then jump on it and dig my shiv into the side on it's neck. I do the same to three more.
"You're good. I could never." Valentina says standing up.
"Yea well. I got a lot of practice."

Valentina walks towards her horse and gets on it.

"You're a fast learner."
"I always have."

We head back.

Valentina's P.O.V

"Open the gates they are back!" I hear a man yell. Then the gates start to open.

"That was fun." I say looking over at Ellie.
"I had fun as well." She says smiling.

We put our horses back in their stables and feed them.
"Hey look." Ellie says pointing at a poster up on the log standing up right.
"Dance?" I say reading that again.
"Yup. Wanna go?"
"When is it?"
"Tonight."
"If you don't have anything to do then.."
"Cool. Let's go." Ellie speaks up.
"Kay."

We head back to Ellie's house and get ready. The party is at 6:00 but it's already 6:25.
"We'll be late cuz you took long." I joke at Ellie.
"I had to take a shower because of the clickers i killed." She says.
"Well.."
"And you didn't kill any cuz you were scared. That's why you don't have blood on you." Ellie says laughing.
"I wasn't scared. I was um."

Ellie laughs at me some more.

"Don't laugh."

Ellie's laugh dies out and she drys her hair.
"Let's go." I say like a little kid.
"You are not patient at all huh?"
"Nope."
"Good to know. Okay. I'm ready."
"Yes!"

I quickly brush my long straight hair which is the opposite of me because I think I'm gay now. I set the brush down and open the door.
