I locked the door behind me as I entered the apartment. I let out a long sigh as I hung my final mask on the key rack near the door. I turned around to see Chase sitting on the couch playing what sounded like animal crossing.
"Oh hey babe. Look I got a huge ass shark-" Chase said getting up.
"Don't come near me! I've been in an infected hospital for 28 hours." I said throwing my hands up. He stopped and sat back down. I went into the bathroom and basically threw off my scrubs from that day. I took a quick shower and got into pajamas, after that I went down to see Chase for the first time since 11 yesterday morning.

I sat down next to Chase and rested my head on his shoulder. Feeling the muscles in my neck finally relax.
"Any news?" Chase asked as he fished up a Sea Bass, no wait it's at least a C+.
"Zhis kid I was zreating lost her sight in one eye because she vas shot vith zhose damn bullets. You know I deal vith drugged, violent, and intoxicated people everyday, I still don't kill zhem for 'resisting'." I answered, realizing I had started to ramble. I remembered hearing the gasps as she came in. No matter how many people came in with protest injuries I can never get used to it.

"Oh my god, you know I just want to know what the fuck is going on in these officers heads. I can't imagine what it's like in America right now." Chase rambled.
"I was chatting vith Isaac earlier. He said zhat he has at least zwo new cases every day now." I continued.
"Any new cases for you?" Chase asked.
"None diagnosed. Ve did alot of zesting zhough." I answered. I let out a shaky breath thinking about all the virus stuff. I felt Chase plant a kiss on my head. I looked up and smiled at him.
"You missed." I said, when he took a second to look at me I pecked him on the lips. He did a sarcastic eye role.
"That was fucking cheesy dude." Chase said jokingly.

I grabbed his chin and pulled him into a deeper kiss. We parted with a satifying click.
"Better?" I asked joking.
"I don't know, could be longer." He responded.
"Oh my fucking god." I responded with a forced exhale.
"Oh look at the scorpion I caught." Chase said holding up his switch.
"Voah, ew get it away from me." I responded getting slightly uncomfortable with the bug.
"You look at organs and stuff all day but you're grossed out by a bug." Chase laughed.
"Organs don't sting you zo death." I responded.
