Chapter 37: An S rank Mission gone wrong

Naruto and his team had finally returned, without Sasuke.

Hana walked down the street to the hospital, her head low as she made her way to Naruto's room.

Hana slowly opened the door, Naruto sitting up as Shikamaru sat on the edge of Naruto's bed.

"H-Hana..." Naruto said in surprise as Hana smiled.

"How did it go?" Hana questioned as Naruto looked away, avoiding eye contact with Hana.

Hana's face fell, as realization hit her.

They didn't bring Sasuke back.

Hana took a deep breath as the door opened, Tsunade and Sakura walking in as Hana walked towards Naruto.

Hana wrapped her arms around Naruto, letting go as she did the same with Shikamaru.

"I'm just glad you're all okay." Hana said as she glared at Tsunade, who sighed.

"Hana-" Tsunade started but was cut off.

"I'll be waiting after I check on everyone." Hana said as she left the room, Tsunade rubbing her temples as she sighed.

"What happened?" Naruto questioned as Tsunade sighed.

"Hana, was there when Sasuke left." Tsunade said as Sakura clenched her fist, shikamaru and Naruto's eyes widening in shock.

"She didn't realize it until it was too late. She wanted to go with you guys, but I told her no. Now, she blames herself for him leaving." Tsunade said as Sakura walked out of the room, running down the hall as she caught up with Hana.

Sakura grabbed Hana by the front of the shirt as Hana's eyes widened.

"You were there!? Why didn't you stop him!? What is wrong with you?? Why didn't you stop him? Answer me, Hana!!" Sakura yelled as Hana looked down in shame.

"I'm so sorry Sakura-" Hana started but was thrown to the ground.

"You- you really let him leave! Why didn't you stop him!? How did you not notice?!" Sakura yelled as Tsunade came down the hall, Shikamaru following after.

Everyone stopped in their tracks, as ice covered the entire hallways floor, Hana crying as she yelled.

"I didn't mean to!! I tried Sakura!  But I failed!! I get it, ok!! I'm a failure and I'll always be!! It's all my fault! All of it!" Hana yelled as Sakura covered her mouth, the ice disappearing as Hana ran out of the hospital.

"Sakura! What did you say!?" Tsunade exclaimed as Sakura gritted her teeth, turning away as Shikamaru just stood there in confusion.

Hana sat on the roof of the hospital all night, sighing as she stared off into the village. Hana eventually feel asleep, only to be awoken by Tsunade.

"What?" Hana asked as she sat up, Tsunade sighing.

"I have sent Naruto, Sakura, and Jiraiya on an undercover mission to the hidden sound village. I had to, I'm sorry." Tsunade said as Hana nodded.

"It's fine. I might as well get used to being left behind." Hana said but Tsunade chimed in.

"Actually, I have a special mission for you! You and Rose will be taking a scroll to Suna. This scroll carries extremely valuable information, about you, Hana. This is an S rank mission. It will take about 6 days to complete. Go get ready, because you leave right now!" Tsunade said with a smile as Hana's eyes lit up.

"R-really Lady Tsunade!? Thank you!!" Hana said happily as she disappeared, Tsunade smiling at the girl's drastic mood change.

Rose groaned as they left the village, Hana jumping up and down happily.

"This is awesome! Aren't you excited Rose sensei?" Hana asked as Rose sighed.

"Oh yeah, I'm over joyed." Rose said sarcastically as Hana laughed.

"This reminds me of the good old days! Before we came to Konoha!" Hana said happily as Rose nodded.

"Yeah, it does. I still remember how mortified you were when that ninja cut your hair. That was funny. But hey, at least its a bit longer now." Rose said as Hana smiled, the two girls making their way to Suna.

The first day was easy, the girls traveled through the night to save time, and only encountered one or two D-ranked bandits.

They arrived at Suna in about two and half days, delivering the scroll to the Kazekage's second hand.

"Well that was easy." Hana said boredly as Rose nodded.

Hana stopped in her tracks, smiling like a mad man as Rose stared at her.

"Oh god. What are you going to do?" Rose questioned as Hana took to the roofs, following the chakra signature.

Hana stopped as she landed in front of Gaara, who stared at her in confusion.

"Hana? Why are you-" Gaara started but was tackled into a hug.

"Panda! Nice to see you again!" Hana said excitedly as Gaara groaned.

"My name isn't panda. Why are you even here?" Gaara questioned as Hana let go of him, smiling brightly.

"Oh we just had to deliver a scroll was all. Oh, I heard you helped Lee during the mission to bring back Sasuke. How did it go?" Hana asked as Rose groaned impatiently.

"Hana, we have to go. Hurry it up love birds." Rose said as Gaara and Hana stared at her in confusion.

"That isn't a real bird." Hana said as Gaara  nodded, Rose face palming as she grabbed Hana.

"Bye Gaara! See yah later!" Hana yelled as her and Rose left, Gaara just standing there in confusion.

Hana yawned tiredly as they set up camp for the night, both girls drifting off into sleep.

Both of their eyes suddenly shot open, Hana grabbing a Kunai as Rose unsheathed her sword.

"How many?" Hana asked as Rose narrowed her eyes.

"I think...there's only one." Rose said as Hana looked around cautiously.

"I feel only one too." Hana said as her and Rose tensed, a figure moving in the shadows.

"What's this? An Uchiha and a...hmm...no clan seal on his clothes." A deep voice sounded as Rose gritted her teeth.

'Why can't my shadows make out the face!? What's going on...' Rose thought as the figure continued to speak.

"Rose Uchiha. One of the last survivors of the Uchiha, the deemed 'shadowed rouge' and the well known 'ghost' of the anbu."

"R-Rose sensei...t-their chakra...it's so evil.." Hana whispered as Rose tensed.

"What do you want?" Rose asked as the figure cackled.

"It's more like, what do you want? I could do it by my hands, or yours. You wish to unlock the mangekyo sharingan, correct? Well why don't I help you?" The figure asked as Rose clenched her hand around her katana even tighter.

"What are you talking about!?" Rose yelled as the figure cackled.

"To unlock the mangekyo, one must go through a traumatizing or life altering event...why don't I give you one?" The figure asked as Rose gasped.

"N-no!" Rose yelled but she couldn't lie, she was interested.

"Rose sensei...what's going on?" Hana questioned as the figure cackled.

"How about this, Rose Uchiha, I can kill the boy now, or you can do it by your own hand. It's your choice."
