⚠️ This chapter mentions drug dealing. I do not use or support using of them. Story uses these just as a means of entertainment for you. Do not use drugs. Or at least pretend you don't.

Arianna De Luca

I knocked softly on Dario's office door. I wanted to surprise him today and so I asked Mia to arrange a car for me to take me here. I made him some Mexican food for lunch, packed it and bought it here.

"Come in." He ordered in his thick Italian accent.

I opened the door and peaked in. He looked up from his laptop and his eyes softened a bit upon seeing me. I flashed him a smile and walked further inside. I raised my hand which held the basket containing our lunch boxes.

"I bought some food. I hope Mexican is alright with you," I said as I kept the basket on the coffee table and started pulling out the boxes containing our lunch. "That smells delicious. You cooked it?" Dario got up from his chair and walked towards me.

"Yup," I said popping the 'p'.

"I made some chicken quesadillas, vegetarian tacos, nachos with some guacamole on the side and I also bought some raspberry flavoured lemonade." I said and offered him a smile.

I finished placing the boxes on the table and Dario took a seat beside me. I served him some of food and he immediately started eating. I guess he was hungry. We had our lunch having a light hearted conversation all the while.

After he was done, I was still in his office, waiting for him to complete his work so we can got home together. He was back on his chair, furiously typing away on his laptop while I mindlessly played some games on my phone.

I eventually got bored after a while and I stood up to fetch a book from the bookshelf Dario has here. I was going through the books when there was a knock on the door and Matteo walked in with a frown on his face.

He saw me and gave me a small smile. We haven't met since two weeks and so he walked towards me and gave me a small hug with a smile on his face.

"Fancy seeing you here, Ari." He said and I shrugged with a smile.

Dario cleared his throat and shut off his laptop. Matteo and I turned towards him a he frowned at Matteo. "You came for something or you had a premonition that Aria was going to be here?"

"I actually have a bad news," Matteo informed.

"When do you not have one," Dario said with a small smirk and I pressed my lips to suppress my laugh.

"Dario, I'm serious. We have a problem," Matteo said as he narrowed his eyes towards Dario.

"When do we not have one," I nodded my head agreeing.

"Just please come to the meeting room with me." Matteo said and before further anything was said, I butted in.

"Can I join you guys? I am bored here anyways."

"Okay but please don't interrupt us, Aria." Dario said with an emotionless face.

"What do you think, I'll shout in the middle of a conversation and demand a chocolate from you?" I sassily said. Dario flashed me an amused smirk at this.

Without saying anything else, the three of us walked in the meeting room. It was my first time being here and I was quite surprised how clean it was. It was dark and had a long ass table in the middle of it just like any cliché Mafia meeting room would. There were only few people present actually. I spotted Bob and Paul along with three other people standing at their respective places.

Dario sat at the head of the table and I took at seat on the right of him. After Dario sat, I saw everyone else sit. I guess because Dario is their head and they show their respect like that.

There were some apples placed on the table in a bowl. Dario picked one up and bit into it, chewing as he looked at the unknown man. The man nodded his head and connected his laptop to the t.v. screen in front of us.

A blue print of the city flashed on the screen. There were little fluorescent green dots on certain roads of the city. He then changed the slide and a map of Vatican appeared on the screen. Similar dots were present on the map as before. The man showed us some other cities' maps having similar green markings.

"Don, the places I've marked with the fluorescent green dots are the junctions which are usual the places we handover drugs to our men, who further distribute them to our customers. As you know we've been having a lot of police people show up at these places to keep a check on us and to avoid being caught, we've tentatively stopped distributing them. The pause in the dealing is tentative so it's not a big issue but in a span of two-three weeks we'll eventually have to start the supply again or else we'll face a lot of loss." The man standing by the laptop informed everyone.

"Both the liquid and powder drugs' supply is stopped?" Dario asked and I turned to him. A frown was etched on his face.

I averted my eyes from him and I saw the bowl of apples. An idea struck me and before I could process anything I said, "I might have an idea."
