Bone Island

~Bona~

It has felt like years since we fled though it's only been an hour. I prayed to whatever mystical being that we end up on some form of land instead of falling into whatever was below us. Just the idea of losing momentum and  falling into nothingness made me shiver a bit.

Soon enough, the fog cleared and revealed a shimmering darkness. Crystals lined the cavern walls and glowed dim mosaics. The sites were pretty and mesmerizing, but none of the crystals were as spectacular as what we were heading towards.

In front of us was a huge skull with crystals and cavern flora covering it. The skull had a fragile structure and a wispy design. Luckily, there were spaces in the design to grab a hold onto the skull, and without an effort I was able to peek up at the surface of the island.

On the surface was a weird wooden building, a castle, along with an oyster structure and a tree structure I've never seen before. In front of the castle stood a volcanic monster with bold red eyes. Around the monster was a crowd of different monsters, and that was when I assumed that the volcanic monster was the leader.

I soon noticed a theme with the crowd. They were all different, but most of them had one thing in common: bone-like features. One monster had jaws for hands, and another had a long neck. Two small monsters had jaws as their heads. If I tried, I think that I'd fit in.

The sound of bones jingling like wind chimes shook me. I looked to my left to see an orange cat-like monster with bones attached to its tail. I looked at the crowd which was staring at me. My eyes shrunk, knowing that we were in serious trouble. Watching the volcanic monster, I waited for her to kick us off. Instead, she held her hand out.

"Need a hand?" Looking at the monster, I grabbed on and got up with Thwok and Petite resting inside my chest.

      "Thank you, um."

"I'm Kayna, of Bone Island. You are?"

"Bona. Wublin Island. Right here's Thwok and Petite," I motioned to the two as they climbed out. Thwok looked confused, and I couldn't help but to smile. Kayna shook our hands politely.

      "Nice to meet you three."

After a few introductions, we all ended up talking and laughing with each other. They were all nice to speak with and fun to play around with. I did have suspicions on one of the monsters, however. I found out his name was Uuduk.

Uuduk was rooted to the ground like Maulch, but by his spine. Flute-like horns were curved around his jaw, and his yellow eye rolled around in his eye socket. Something about his eye made me wonder if there were any other monsters with secrets like mine.
