~Kayna~

Five minutes before departure. I was getting the skyship ready for the new monsters. In my travels to the Natural Islands, I never went with another monster. Of course it was always going to be the same thing: travel to an island the day before a major holiday, stay there until the holiday's over, then move on to the next island.

"We're ready, Kayna!" a voice chirped. I looked down and saw the new monsters waiting to board the skyship.

"C'mon!" I hollered as I went to a lever. Flicking the lever, the gangway of the skyship lowered itself and I watched as the new monsters got on. They were fascinated by what they saw.

"Woah! This is so cool!" I heard the small monster, Petite, chirp as she ran around and looked up at the sails. "What is that thingy?"

"It's a sail, Petite," the much bigger monster, Bona, responded with. "Used for navigation."

"You knowh qwighe a it, Ona," Thwok commented.

"Eh, you can say I'm out of this world." I giggled a bit.

"You know," I started to say, "you're an interesting set of monsters. Given all the islands I traveled to, I've never seen a group quite like you three."

      "Whell, whaht can whe say?"

      "We're all one big family!"

"And that's what brings us closer together." I smiled at the three as I prepared to set course for the first natural island: Plant Island.

The bone monsters waved  goodbye as the skyship rose up and forward towards the darkness. I kept a steady grip on the wheel while keeping an eye on the new monsters. Thwok buried himself in some books I had lying around while Bona and Petite talked about the "human world". Bona's way of telling these stories was interesting to say the least.

Hearing these stories reminded me of my trips to the Natural Islands alone. I remembered all the challenges on the islands and the love and motivation to keep going. It brought me to think about the night I found the skyship. Everything was blurry at the time, and I was in bad shape. Familiar yelling was heard behind me, so I ran to the skyship and took off. Thwok shook me out of my thoughts and pointed up towards a purple light.

Rising up from the darkness, we were all able to see beautiful crystal caverns and sea flora. Thwok and the other new monsters were now watching through the glass in awe as the dragonflies flew past the now aquatic skyship. Ringing of bells and wispy calls could be heard from a far away island.

The purple sea turned a deep blue as we rose up higher. There were fewer dragonflies the higher we were, but soon we started seeing glowing fish and jellyfish swimming around us. Petite squealed in joy as a group of fish swam by followed by a large glubblet. I smiled as I heard flutes chiming and well known singing nearby. As the sea got brighter around us, we rose above the surface and made our way to Plant Island.
