Hades flashed both Persephone and himself back into their bedchambers.

In the privacy of their bedchambers, Persephone lose her strength; she fell on her knees and broke down crying. Hades scooped her up in his arms and walked up to their bed. He sat on the edge of their bed, Persephone cradled safely in his arms. He let her cry, whispering proclamations of love to soothe her, and his own despairing heart. She listened to his heartbeats, inhaling deeply his fresh masculine scent of cypresses; she started to calm down. Finally, she looked up to him; he smiled.

"My sweet Persephone, so gentle and soft-" Hades' sonorous voice like music to Persephone's ears, "-hides a power that could devastate the world."

Persephone chuckled, and whispered, "You always think so highly of me." Hades tilted her chin up and looked deep into her eyes.

"I don't think, wife. I know."

She felt herself toughened. I cannot be without you, husband. I will find a way

Hades inhaled her deeply, enveloping his consciousness with her scent of lilacs and anemones. "I wish I could breathe you in forever," he whispered, a strand of her hair coiled around his finger. And here I thought we have forever, he smiled weakly.
