Bridget Regan as Merlyn. She's 5"4 with a slim build, black wavy hair and bright cerulean eyes. She's a Mage the first and only of her kind.

Eoin Macken as Gwaine. He's 5"11 with dark brown wavy hair to his jaw line. He has a fit, athletic build and beautiful hazel eyes.

He used to travel place to place until he met Merlyn. He's her soulmate.

Tom Hiddleston as Frey. He's a Druid that was cursed to turn into a Bastet every night but Merlyn brought the humanity back in him in his Bastet form and made him feel loved.

He had long black hair to his neck, bright blue eyes, a Druid mark on his arm, he's 6"2 and has a slim but muscular build. When he died he became the Man of the Lake when Merlyn took him to Avalon and burned is body on the water for his funeral.

Style: peasant, worn-out clothes. Until Merlyn stole some of Arthur's clothes for him.
Health: he turns into a Bastet at the stroke of midnight. He was starved and later killed by Arthur.
Occupation: Man of the Lake of Avalon.
Likes: Merlyn, and a home surrounded by a lake and mountains.
Dislikes: scared of magic, and weary of people. Afraid to get too close to them.
Family background: Frey's family was killed by a witch who attack him. He didn't mean to kill her, but the witch's mother cursed him to become a Bastet and kill forever more. He loves Merlyn with all he is.
Quirks: He is distrustful of people as he has been betrayed many times. But he's also weary to try too close to anyone. He's lonely until Merlyn who makes him feel loved.

Emily Blunt as Esmerelda. Gwaine's older sister married to Lord Bayard's son, Benjamin.

Height: 5"7 with a slim, hourglass figure.
Hair and eye colour: long dark frown hair and blue eyes.
Style: wealthy, but not obnoxious, Princess of Mercia.
Health: healthy and fit.
Occupation: Princess of Mercia via marriage.
Likes: shopping on occasion, helping her people, reading and learning and loves her family.
Dislikes: arrogant people and people who hurt her family.
Family background: her father died when she was three years old, she helped her mother to raise Gwaine. Loves her family and her select few friends.
Quirks: feisty and doesn't take no for an answer. Kind and caring but will not tolerate those who hurt those she loves.

Michelle Pfeiffer as Lady Adelaide Lotsson. Gwaine and Esmerelda's mother.

Height: 5"7 1/2, and slim with a svelte figure.
Hair and eye colour: blonde curly hair and blue eyes.
Style: wealthy but not obnoxious, Lady of the Court.
Health: healthy.
Occupation: Lady of the Court
Likes: her family, helping people and learning.
Dislikes: people who hurt her family, arrogant people. Uther, Morgana, Morgause and Caerleon.
Family background: brought her two small children up into the wonderful adults they are by herself when her husband was killed and she was left penniless by the horrid King Caerleon.
Quirks: like her daughter she is feisty and doesn't let people walk all over he or her loved ones. She can be abrasive with those she doesn't like.

Domhnall Gleeson as Prince Benjamin 'Ben' Collings of Mercia

Height: he has a slim build and is 6"1
Hair and eye colour: red shaggy hair and green eyes.
Style: wealthy, Prince.
Health: healthy and fit.
Occupation: Prince of Mercia
Likes: jousting, messing about with Gwaine, and looking after his people.
Dislikes: lazy, arrogant people, those who attack his kingdom or hurt his family.
Family background: he has a very loving mother and father. His mother Queen Belladona has been friends with Adelaide since childhood and had them brought here when Adelaide's husband was killed. Very close to his wife and to Gwaine.
Quirks: he's funny and very protective and sweet. But a hard-ass on those who deserve it.
