Bakugou Katsuki was a goddamn blessing to this world. At least, that's what he thought. He'd been born naturally good at everything: he had a powerful quirk, he was athletic, he was smart, and he was handsome; if he did say so himself.

Since he was amazing at everything he did, naturally he was always a top student too. He'd been getting some of the highest marks in class WHILE staying on top of his practical studies too.

So when he'd been paired up with that idiot Bubblegum girl for a group project, he freaked out. She was in the bottom half of class in terms of grades, and if the amount of late slips she came in with almost daily indicated how hard working of a student she was, Bakugou was thoroughly screwed.

It was a simple enough project, a brief presentation on the genetic aspect of quirks and their evolution throughout the past 200 years. Simple stuff. A presentation that could be done in a night's work; if that IDIOT BOTHERED TO START IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

They'd been assigned the project almost two weeks ago, and it was due the following Wednesday. That gave them 5 days to finish this shit, and Bakugou would be damned if he got stuck doing it the night before.

He probably could've done the project himself- he'd have preferred it actually- but the stubborn boy refused to let his classmate off without putting in the work.

The girl had been putting off his demands of meeting up after school and finishing the damn project day after day, saying she was busy with work or some other random bullshit every time. How could someone be busy everyday? Who the hell didn't have a couple hours to spare to finish a project worth 10% of their final grade?

Shinobu Kou didn't, that's who. Honestly, she would've felt bad about procrastinating their group project had the blond not been so damn annoying about it. It's not like she was trying to put it off! She'd been working 5 hour shifts 6 days a week for the past two weeks; one of her coworkers off on vacation. The one day she did have off were Sundays, and she had to do her groceries, laundry, cleaning and homework all in that day. How the hell was she supposed to find time to go over to the guy's house and work on a project?

Feeling a hand slam into her desktop, she looked up to see the angry red eyes of her partner, practically fuming. "Listen, you're coming to my house on Sunday and we're finishing this shit, got it? I don't care what the hell you have going on during the weekend- if you don't come over and work on the project you're dead!"

The girl sighed, deciding to just do her chores on Saturday before work and appease the blond in front of her. "Fine. Just send me your address and I'll be there Sunday."

Bakugou huffed, holding back the insults he was ready to hurl at her had she refused his offer yet again. But if she was late to even a simple house meeting he'd definitely tear her a new one.

Kou was late...again.

In her defence, she'd gotten home past midnight on Saturday, and her shitty stepdad hadn't let her leave until she'd made breakfast, which of course he'd asked for at 11 am because he was hungover and couldn't wake up at a normal time. The commute took just over an hour if she was lucky, so yeah Kou couldn't really make it for their 12:00 meeting time.

Over the past couple weeks, she'd like to think her and the explosive blond had become something close to friends. He was one of the few people in class she enjoyed talking to- his overdramatic reactions and colourful language amused Kou to no end. His fighting spirit and independent nature made it easy for them to get along, especially during training. Her hatred for him during the Sports Festival translated to a friendly competitiveness between them.
