I cry, and cry, and cried. Dream hasn't talked to me since Monday. My teachers just think I'm sad because it's the last week of school. I eventually told Gracie everything but she could do nothing to lift my mood.

We are sitting in one of the school cafeterias. It's extremely crowded, filled with students who want to experience university for the last time. Madi and Amelia have no idea what is wrong with me. I'm just staring at my food, twirling my fork around. For the first time in days my phone buzzes in my pocket. I almost jump out of my seat. I whip it out, my hands shaking and a hopeful smile on my face. I slump when I see it's my mom calling.

"Who is it?" Gracie asks.

"My mom," I reply, I can tell she knows who I thought it was. "I'll be right back," I say to the table and get a few absent minded nods.

I walk outside and breathe in the spring air. Before I can even finish saying, "Hey Mom," she starts talking.

"Oh Y/N! I've got bad news, we're really sorry I-I don't know how to say this-"

"Mom, it's alright, just tell me," I say. Could things get any worse?

"Well... your dad is sick," she says. "It's nothing serious, maybe just the flu or a cold or something but he doesn't feel well enough to travel. I know how much you were looking forward to our trip to Florida and-"

"Oh my god Mom!" I cut her off. I'm grinning like crazy and then realize what a bad daughter I'm being. "Sorry, I really hope Dad gets better, but about the trip, it's completely alright."

"We could always reschedule the trip," she says nervously.

"Mom, I have a great idea." I tell her all about it, it takes some convincing but she finally agrees.

As soon as she hangs up I go to my favorite contacts and click on Dream's number. I have no idea what I'm going to say. I don't know if I should be apprehensive or just excited. I am both.

"Hey Y/N!" Dream says and I break into a huge grin. "Look, I'm sorry I got mad-"

"Dream! It's fine, I'm sorry too, but I have great news!" I say. A student passing by gives me a glare. "I can come to Florida!"

"What? Really?!"

"Yes! My Dad got sick so he can't travel, but I convinced my parents to still let me go!" I'm practically bouncing up and down.

"Oh my god! This is great!" he exclaims. "Just one question, Y/N, were you lying to me? By not telling me you were coming to Florida?"

I pause. "Friends don't lie."

"Ok, thanks Y/N, I needed that. So when are you coming!?"

"My plane is supposed to take off on May 3rd, so the coming Sunday!"

"I'm so glad that you're coming," he says. A bell startles me and students start stampeding out of the cafeteria.

"Sorry I've got to go to class," I say.

"Ok, text me your flight info, I'll be there. See you in a few days!"
