I LOVE THIS

The movie had ended a long time ago and the party was in full swing. You had lost Tom at some point but you had been having a lot of fun with Jeremy Renner and Elisabeth Olson. However, you were getting a little tired so you excused yourself to go to the toilet. When you came back you decided to go outside for a bit. It wasn't cold outside so you sat down on the steps that led from the patio into the garden. You didn't want to tell Tom you were ready to go home. He deserved this night so much and he was having so much fun with all his friends and co-workers, you didn't want to ruin it. And it didn't bother you too much to stay, you just needed some time alone, away from all those huge ass celebrities that intimidated you a little.

As you were looking into the garden you realized something. It was dark but all the city lights were so bright, you couldn't even see the stars. There were a couple but it was nothing compared to the night sky in your hometown. Out of a sudden you felt a little homesick.

If you were fully honest you had been missing your family for a while now. You moved to London a couple years ago because of uni and eventually moved in with Tom when the two of you got together. So you barely got to see your family anyway. And now you were spending your break not at home but with him in LA, which you loved, but still. The missing stars on the sky suddenly reminded you of the fact it had been a while since you visited home.

"Aren't you cold?"

You turned around in surprise. And then you gasped for air. It was Chris who was leaning in the doorway that led onto the patio.

"Sorry I didn't want to startle you", he said, smiling. "Mind if I join you?", he asked and nodded towards you.

You shook your head and Chris closed the door behind him and sat down next to you. Every bit of you immediately tensed up and you couldn't help but realize that your hands were shaking.

"You are cold, aren't you?", Chris asked.

You shook your head no and laughed lightly. "Actually, I'm just very nervous right now."

Chris leaned back to look at you properly.

"What, why?"

"Well-", you bury your face in your hands, not believing what you were about so say, "Captain America is actually my favorite super hero."

"Ohh", Chris laughed and you joined him. "I'm flattered", he said smiling. "So, what are you doing Y/n?"

You really couldn't believe Chris Evans was having an actual conversation with you. But you didn't mind, of course, so you answered his question and you got into talking about anything and everything. You soon realized he was the most down to earth person ever so you started to feel very comfortable and soon your nervousness was gone.

"What were you doing out here anyways?", Chris eventually asked you. You fiddle with your fingers. "Oh it was nothing. I got a bit tired and decided to watch the stars a little but-", you looked up, "guess there are no stars around LA."

Chris chuckled. "What? I can see them."

You smiled. "Well you must have been living here for a while now cause elsewhere this isn't what a night sky actually looks like."

You're quiet for a while.

"Do you miss home sometimes?", you suddenly blurt out.

Chris's reaction surprises you. "I do a lot. That's why I brought my brother here tonight. It's great spending these kinda nights with the people you love."

You nod. "Yeah I know. Tom said the same thing when he asked me to come tonight."

You rubbed your hands over your arms a little, suddenly you felt a bit chilly. Within a second Chris reacted.

"Here", he pulled his pullover over his head. His t-shirt was pulled up a little in the process and you could see his pelvis. Quickly you looked away, then you felt Chris put his pullover over your shoulders. It was warm and smelled incredible and you straight away got goosebumps. Not from the cold air though.

"Thank you", you say and look at him.

"You're welcome", he says with a smile.

"Tell me about your home", he then adds.

You're surprised by his question but you answer anyways. You love talking about your hometown, and your family. You tell Chris about your brother and all your old friends and your grandparents' dog. "I just miss all of them a lot and I only seem to realize that right now."

"I get that. When you live your everyday life you don't really think about stuff like that but when your routine changes you do. My dog had to go to the vets lately, that made me realize a couple things too."

He suddenly looks really sad and you feel the need to hug him. Instead you just take his hand and squeeze it a little.

"I know it's not my place to ask but do you wanna talk about it?"

He sighs, then looks right at you. "I guess I just feel a bit lonely. I always wanted to get married and have kids and now I'm ready for it but no one seems interested."

A laugh escapes your mouth and you immediately press your hand on your lips. "God, I'm so sorry. But, it's just, I really don't think no one is interested. I mean, have you looked in the mirror lately? Also, one glance at twitter should be enough to realize there are plenty of interested women."

Now he laughs too and you're relived he didn't take your laugh as an insult.

"I guess you're right. I'm probably just scared I end up trusting the wrong one. That's the bad part about this industry I guess."

"Well, are you doing anything to get to know people that aren't in the industry? Maybe that makes it easier for you to trust someone."

He thinks for a bit. "Like what?"

"Well-", you say, pulling his pullover closer to you, "some kind of hobby maybe. Joining a book club or attending an art class. Cooking classes could be nice too."

"How did you and Tom meet?"

You look up at the non-existing stars. "We met in the park. His dog Tessa came running up to me and a friend and that's how we started talking. Wait-", you turn around in excitement to look at Chris, "you have a dog too! Maybe find a place somewhere outside the city, a park or a hike, where you can go for a walk with him. Maybe you're as lucky as we were."

Chris slightly pushes his arm against yours. "Thank you", he smiles. "I guess I'll try that. If that's how Tom met a girl like you I'd be stupid not to."

You can't help but giggle. You love Tom with all your heart. But getting compliments like this from your teenager crush still makes your sixteen year old self blush.

"Oh, sorry."

You turn around in surprise as you hear Toms voice behind you.

He's standing in the door way, eyes darted at the two of you.

"Well I was looking for you to ask if you wanted to head home but I guess you're busy", he says and walks back inside, closing the door behind him.

You sigh. "Oh well, I better go look for him", you say chuckling and Chris laughs.

"Oh god, yes please, you better do." He gets up and pulls you up with him.

"Thanks for this. And the talk." You hand him his pullover and give him a hug.

Then you follow Tom but turn around one more time as Chris calls after you.

"You should tell him that you miss home."

You're surprised for a second. Then you nod and give him a wave.
