Newsies AU

Based loosely on sides for Turf War and the plot/characters of Newsies. (Emphasis on loosely)

Jack: Grian

- From distant state of Evo, moved to Hermiton for unknown reasons

- Quickly became one of most reliable newsies and built a gang out of (somewhat) trustworthy individuals

- Has escaped from the Refuge* many times (once, notably, disguised as a chicken, which worked brilliantly because the guard was asleep)

*In the actual play/movie, the Refuge is a orphanage/juvenile detention center that is notorious for it's horrible conditions

Crutchie: Well, ya' see, idk lol. He might just not exist lmao. I did say LOOSELY!!

Davey: Impulse

- Kind of new to the group, but seems friendly

- Older brother works as a assistant reporter in the gambling section for the Hermiton Herald (Hasn't been home for several months due to work, sends money to help support family)

- Younger brother also works as a newsie

- Both started working after father was killed due to factory accident

Les: Zedaph

- Yes, I know he's not involved in the actual resistance (Shut up, it's funny)

- Loud and rambunctious kid who's secondary job after selling papers is creating small machines with random parts (and blowing up things with Ren, but Impulse doesn't need to know about that)

Medda Larkin: Stress

- Runs a theater and bar in Hermiton (nearby the Slat) [Yes, I'm naming the Newsies living space after the living space of the Dregs in Six of Crows {ignore this if you don't recognize the book lol}]

- Always friendly to the newsies and is close friends with the (current) mayor 

- Pays Grian to occasionally create costumes (Started off as a dare from Jevin, eventually evolved into an actual common occurence)

Ren:

- Basically, the groups only medic besides occasional help from Stress

- Selling papers to help his brother get the admission price for music school 

- Has accidentally blown up several bottles (which left a foul smell around their alley for days), an ancient gramophone Etho had acquired[read: stole] from a run-down antique shop (which woke all of them up), and [almost!] a cat (Which led to Grian "accidentally" pushing him off the roof of the stock exchange(He was fine, Impulse caught him). 

Jevin:

- Main gatherer of any food for the gang (people will give him more because they want him to leave quickly)

- Has a route across the main river in Hermiton near all the factories so his skin is permanently tinged a strange blue-ish green-ish color

Xb:

-  Often surveys the Refuge and the streets for kids for the group to help and/or take in
