They said that time flew when you were having fun - and boy were they right. Before you knew it, it was already the last day of the trip - the only day you hadn't planned to film. There would be no pressure of preforming for the camera, just you and Schlatt, hanging out. You had thought that it would just be at his place, like you had been for most of the trip, so when he told you to meet him at a fairly nice restaurant, you were surprised.

You were even more surprised when you sat down and he wasn't dressed in sweats.

"What's with the clothes?" You asked by way of greeting.

"What?" Schlatt said, looking down to inspect his own outfit. "What's wrong with it?"

"Nothing." You said. "I just haven't seen you in anything but a sweatshirt this whole time."

Schlatt looked back up, mocking annoyance on his face. "You get here, and the first thing you do it make fun of my outfit, nothing about how nice this place is or thanking me for inviting you to lunch or-"

You rolled your eyes playfully, cutting him off. "This place is very nice Schlatt thank you for inviting me out to lunch."

Schlatt smiled, seemingly appeased. "You're welcome."

A waitress came by then, taking your drink orders and dropping menus off. You pored over the options - this place had a lot to offer, mostly in the way of fancy club sandwiches, but there were a few meat and paste dishes as well.

"What are you getting?" You asked as Schlatt looked over his own menu across from you.

"I don't know..." He said. "The one with the roast beef looks good..."

You watched him scan over the menu, mouth set into a line as he debated with himself. Even something so mundane and simple he could make seem attractive to you - it was almost like some kind of magic. Although, having a crush was just like that wasn't it? Everything he did seemed so incredible because you were already predisposed to think he was amazing.

Just watching him made you not want to leave.

You were loathe that the trip was ending - you'd had more fun in the past few days than you'd had in months while still being productive and making content. Logically, you knew that you couldn't stay here forever, but if it meant the same level of coexisting work and enjoyment, you never wanted to leave.

And, Schlatt was here or whatever.

You were sure as soon as you were back home and you weren't seeing him everyday the crush would fade. It was just because of the shock of seeing him without those horrendous chops, and then hanging out with him for a few days. Yeah, he was nice and had a great laugh and-

"Y/N."

Schlatt's voice snapped you back to reality to see both him and the waitress looking at you. "Oh, sorry." You said sheepishly, looking back to the menu. "Um, I'll do the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of house cut fries."

"Great." The waitress jotted down your order before taking the menus. "That should be out in a few minutes." She turned then, taking your order towards the kitchen.

As soon as she was out of earshot you groaned, pressing your face into your hands. "That was so embarrassing, holy shit. How many times did you have to say my name?"

"Only the one." Schlatt said, an edge of laughter on his voice. "Can I ask what you were thinking so hard about?"

You picked your head back up, taking a sip of your drink. "Just that I'm leaving tomorrow." You said.

Schlatt nodded sagely. "Eager to get back, huh?"

"That's almost the opposite." You said. "It's been so nice here that I kind of don't want to leave, you know? This is probably the most fun I've had in a good few months."

Schlatt snorted. "The most fun you've had in a while is hanging out with me?"

"You make it sound like that's not allowed." You said. "You're actually pretty okay, you know that?"

"I guess you're alright too." Schlatt said, rolling his eyes.

It wasn't too long before the food came out from the kitchen and the waitress dropped it off at your table - you found yourself unable to look her in the eye as you took the tray with your sandwich on it. The food was good, but the conversation was better - Schlatt made a game of scoping out the other patrons of the place, and creating whole personalities for them just based on what they were wearing. You couldn't stop thinking about having to leave though, and every minute that passed only brought you closer to having to get on that plane tomorrow morning and fly back home.

Schlatt let out a large belch, drawing a glare from the middle aged women in the booth next to you. "Delicious." He announced. "How was yours?"

"Great." You said, picking at the remnants of the fries that had come with your sandwich.

The waitress came back over, seeing your plates were nearly empty. "Anything else I can get for you today?" She asked.

"Just the check." Schlatt said. She disappeared with a nod, heading off to fetch the bill.

"I'll pay." You offered, reaching over to where you had laid down your bag to grab your wallet.

"No, I've got it." Schlatt said, pulling his out of his pocket. "You paid to fly out here, the least I could do is cover lunch."

You smiled, dropping your wallet back into your bag.

"Speaking of." Schlatt said. "When do you leave tomorrow?"

"Early." You said.

"What time?" He asked.

You shook your head. "Schlatt, you don't have to-"

"It's the nice thing to do, and I would feel bad if you had to get a cab to the airport." He said. "What time do you have to be there?"

"Six." You said. "But really, you don't have to take me there. I was planning on getting a cab anyway, and I'm sure you sleep later than that-"

"It's not a big deal." Schlatt said as the waitress dropped the check off. "Really."
