Hikaru eyed the skyline, his gaze filled with suspicion as he glanced back towards the entrance of the second base. His chakra slowly seeped into the ground, and he moved to the entrance of the base silently. His heart was pounding in his chest, and he was more than cautious from what had happened last time he was in here.

He stepped in, keeping his chakra a few meters in front of him, letting his senses spread out the further he went into the underground base. Dust fell from the ceiling, and Hikaru came nose-to-fang with a gigantic spider.

He swiftly drove a kunai into the spider's skull, breath sharp with terror. He hated spiders.

A shiver went down his spine as the spider dropped to the ground with a soft thud. He gave a soft sigh of relief, stepping over the giant spider and continuing on his way.

There was nothing.

It was empty- every single room that he encountered, even the ones at the far back with nothing but a few boxes. There was no way that they had been able to move everything out of there while Hikaru was incapacitated for the total of two days. Especially with the amount of rooms in this thing.

Hikaru turned back around, and that's when he noticed that the hallway in front of him was completely dark. His chakra spread out once again, undetectable in every way possible other than to someone of his level.

No chakra signatures up ahead, or around him.

Hikaru tilted his head, his mask a brilliant white in the consuming darkness. He would've been scared when even the lights behind him were turned off, had he not been expecting this. It wasn't the worse thing that could've happened- i.e., Team Seven being rendered unable to fight or dead- and a bit overdramatic.

He strolled into the darkness, taking out a kunai and working on his intimidation factor. It was hard with being thin, but he had being tall to his advantage.

A chakra signature flickered at the edge of his range, right by the opening to the base.

A smidgin amount of fear echoed in his heart- he wasn't strong enough, and he never really would be. Not to fight people that he deemed chunin-level, not to mention he hated spilling unecassary blood.

But he would, so he crushed the fear the best he could, and continued on his way. His feet brushed against the dead spider, and he stepped over it the best he could.

Then light burned at his vision, and the crushing darkness slowly faded away, and he stepped back into the clearing.

Ah. Hikaru mused as he saw the people in the trees- each with a weapon on their back or sides- and ones on the ground with cruel weapons that were more made for brute force than anything.

He adjusted his white mask, pulling out a few more kunai and settling into a stance, deciding to strike first.

They would all have to die. A part of him whispered. Hikaru pushed it away. There was no time for emotions when he was battling.

A woman with a bat that had nails in it rushed towards him, her stance sloppy. He grabbed the bat, coating his hand in chakra and swiftly crushing it. She looked at him in surprise, but he'd sliced her neck with a kunai and down she went, crashing to the floor and tripping one up. A small shout of surprise, and then Hikaru hit his head with the blunt of the kunai.

More rushed at him- a few tantos, more bats, a few shuriken in their hands- and Hikaru swiftly disarmed them, zipping through the clearing. Bushes rustled, and a few more charged.
