Luke x Reader (JATP) - barely editing anymore

Chapter 10

You ran into town to get food and came back with your iced latte( a/n if you don't like coffee just think of this as your favourite drink).

Once you got back to the house you headed straight into the garage trying not to be noticed.

"Oh hey what's up!" Reggie says still looking at his bass and music sheets in front of him.

"Nothing really" You weren't expecting to see anyone you told them all to leave so why Reggie you've never even talked to him before.

"You ever play the bass" He said this now looking at you.

"I already told you guys I never got into music" Why would he even ask you that.

"Wanna try, I find it helps me block out my problems. A lot." He's surprisingly nice and cheery and it would be nice to play the bass again.

"Yea why not, promise not to tell Luke but I read over some of your guys music and it was kinda good" You said this with a little laughter hoping to ease everything.

"Oh yea you liked it why don't you give it a try, i'll help you learn the bass part and then we can play it together! or even if you wanted to learn the lyrics you could sing it and I could play background for you and then Luke could play the guitar and alex the drums" He was being way too optimistic for me just saying I liked one of their songs but it was surprisingly nice to thing about this and talk to Reggie instead of thinking about any of my actual problems for once.

"Whoah I just said I liked the song i'm not gonna be in your little boy band you've never even heard me sing I could be terrible for all you know" You responded with more laughter.

He passed you the bass and helped place everything the right way. It was really cute to watch him try and help you and you didn't want to crush his spirit just yet by saying you already knew how to play.

"Here hold it like this and put your fingers right, there" He said this while adjusting your fingers to get them in the right place for the chords.

"Um, don't get mad but I may have fibbed a little when I said i've never played before, but before you get annoyed at me, I haven't played in a long time so i'm probably not good" Once saying this he immediately bursts out laughing with you.

"So you let me do all that when you already know how to play well now i'm just embarrassed, here I was thinking I was teaching you something new. Well if you do remember anything play me a song anything you think of just put it all out there." He began to get a little red while saying this. But you have no idea what to play so instead you take the music out of his hand and put it onto the music stand.

"Look I haven't played in over a year so don't judge and i'm probably still gonna need some help"

"Ok yea your really good, but you definitely need my help" He said this while laughing and exaggerating the word definitely.

"Well then get your ass over here and help me" It felt real for a change, you guys were just kinda laughing and having fun.

He took your hand and helped you through the first part of the song which went great until your sleeve rolled up a little and he saw all your bruises.

"Hey are you ok" He asked this while smiling but I could tell he was worried.

"Oh yea no this is nothing really i'm fine just fell while skating no biggy" You started laughing a little while saying this to try and show that it really was nothing but you could tell he didn't believe you.

"Did someone hurt you y/n?" He wasn't smiling anymore, you hated how he wasn't smiling anymore.

"No, ok I said no already trust me i'm fine" You weren't laughing anymore but still smiling.

"Did your dad do this to you? is this why there was so much yelling earlier and why we heard crying and screaming, was this why you kicked us out so you wouldn't have to tell us?" He was being really serious now you couldn't just smile anymore.

"I told you i'm fine why does everyone keep trying to act like they give a fuck about me it's my life I can do whatever I want to. I just fell while skating it's not a big deal" You were getting mad now you tried not to you really did.

"What do you mean acting? I do care about you why do you think I asked if I didn't, so please if somethings going on tell me" He was calmer now again you guessed it was because he could see how scared you got at the mention of your father, maybe he did care.

"You wouldn't be able to do anything anyways your a ghost i'm the only one who can see and touch you, you think you would be able to stop him from hurting me, because I sure as hell would like to know how that works out for you" You started crying and as great as it felt to let everything out and just yell at Reggie and cry you hated yourself for opening yourself up to him because you knew that just like everyone else in your life he would leave.

"Y/n?" Luke came in looking like he was just standing there listening to the whole conversation. You couldn't help but run up to him and hug him, he held you there in his arms and you felt safe, you hadn't had a hug like that for a really long time and you missed it, a lot.
