My Hero Academia - Todoroki x Reader Oneshots

Take You Dancing

Author's Note: I'm obsessed with this new song Take You Dancing by Jason Derulo. Highly recommend. This is sorta what this one shot is based off of. 

BTW this is when you and Todoroki are grown ups so he's grown out of his shell a bit more.

Y/N's POV

"Absolutely not Sho," you muttered, staring at your husband who was giving you a pout. 

He frowned, "Please? It's been so long since we've had fun on a mission." 

"Yes, but that was back when we were stopping small-time criminals," you countered. "We're dealing with the League of Villains now. No fooling around." 

"Fine." 

     You eyed him through your disguise as if to further solidify your point. Currently the two of you were on an undercover mission at a gathering site for new recruits of the League. Your goal was to count the new members and, if possible, apprehend an elusive criminal. Of course that second part is going to take a while, you thought as you surveyed the partygoers in the room. 

     Now it was your turn to frown. To be honest the gathering site was much more formal than you thought it would be. Sure you were at an old warehouse, but the inside was decorated to resemble a ballroom with a huge dance floor right in the middle of it. You even had to put on an elegant evening gown to play the part. 

"Hey Todo don't let your guard down," you said already identifying several suspects. "I have a really bad feeling abou- WHAT are you doing?!" 

Your jaw dropped as you saw him casually take a sip of wine offered at the refreshments table.

"What? I'm just blending in with the party," he shrugged. "I'm taking this very seriously like you said." 

You grit your teeth and shot him a death glare, reaching to also grab a glass of wine, "Fine. Just don't get drunk." 

     He laughed and took another sip. I can't tell if Todoroki is mocking me or if he's serious about staying in character...

"Well hey there gorgeous. How are you~?" 

At the sound of an unknown voice you froze and spun around to find a shady looking man, "Are-are you talking to me?" 

"Well who else?" he replied smugly. 

     You fought the urge to sucker punch his face. Do it for the mission. Do it for the mission. Do it for the mission.

"Oh uh... you flatter me," you replied airily. 

The man chuckled, "There's no need to be so formal darling."

     He then leaned in closer to you and placed a hand around your waist, making you gasp and back up into Todoroki. Oh crap-

"Excuse me, what do you think you're doing?" came the threatening voice of your husband not a second too late. 

"Whatever I want," the man replied equally as fierce. 

     Your gut twisted as you looked between the two men. The tension was quickly escalating. If you didn't do something now, your covers would surely be blown. 

"Uh, please excuse my associate!" you blurted, freeing yourself from the man's grip. "I don't know what's gotten into him tonight." 

Todoroki scoffed, "Associate?! I'm your-" 

"If you were looking for someone easy," you interrupted, cutting off Todo and focusing your gaze on the man, "go somewhere else." 

     The man simply stared in shock. It was almost like he'd never been told no. 

"If you're just going to stand there may you tell us who you are? I want to know for... personal reasons," Shoto asked sharply.

You groaned and grabbed the back of your husband's shirt, dragging him away from the mess, "Once again, I apologize for my associate!" 

     The man still stood there motionless but you couldn't care less. He was the least of your worries now. Your cover had almost been blown several times tonight, and every time it was because of Todoroki. 

"What is up with you Shoto?!" you whisper shouted once the two of you were out of hearing range. 

     This was not the same Todoroki that you knew. He was so aloof and out of it tonight. It was insane. 

"Hello? Are you listening?" you asked impatiently. 

"Yes. I am." 

"Then what's wrong?!" 

The half and half hero sighed frustratedly, "You know want to know what's wrong Y/N?! We've been so caught up in hero work that we barely get to see each other. That's why I requested to be paired with you for this mission! I thought we could have fun like we used to but all you care about is mission this and mission that."

Your anger began to soften at his words, "Todo..." 

"I know I shouldn't be so childish," he continued, "but I miss you. I really miss you." 

     Feeling much regret, you reached out to place a hand on his face. What he had said was true. You really hadn't been spending much time together. 

"One dance," you said. 

"What?"

"One dance," you repeated, with a gentle smile. 

He stood in awe for a moment, before shaking his head and matching your energy, "Then don't blame me if anything happens." 

     You laughed in excitement as he suddenly dragged you onto the dance floor, wrapping and arm around your waist and placing his forehead against yours. Together, the two of you moved in sync to the beat of the music.

"This does bring me back," you mused as he twirled you around. 

     He hummed in response, bringing you back into his chest as the two of you continued waltzing around. To any onlooking villains, you probably looked like a young couple. 

"Y/N," Todoroki whispered in your ear making you shiver, "the target is on your left."  

You grinned playfully, "Excellent job my associate. We'll continue this at home." 

Author's Note: Hey! It's been a while! I thought I'd write a little something here just for the sake of it. I've been working on another book and I've been busy with school/other life stuff. Writer's block has also been killing my lately, but I still managed to get this done. I hope you guys are doing good tho!

P.S. - my other book is nowhere near finished so hahaaaaaaa. Also I have no idea how well this chapter flows but I really wanted to get something out there because I haven't written in this book in such a long time :(
