It was snowing in California, meaning you were stuck in your collage dorm room until the storm had passed. You were scheduled to go home today but due to the weather all flights and ferries, that were ready to leave the city, were unfortunately cancelled.

Wrapping yourself in a blanket, you sat down at your desk, and set yo your phone ready to face time Sarah. Pressing the call button, it rang a few times before she popped up on the screen.

"Baby!" She smiled. "Hi where are you?" She asked confused.

"So I have good news and bad news which one do you want first?" You asked, watching her smile drop.

"Urm...bad news" she answered.

"So all flights and the ferry I had bought a ticket for was cancelled." You frowned.

"And what's the good news?" The blonde girl asked, sadness in her voice.

"They said that the storm should have passed by Christmas eve night and I can get on the first boat home"

"So you might make it home for Christmas?" She asked with a bit of home.

"Maybe, yes"

It was your first time away from Sarah, and it had been a long few months at school. You guys started dating in July but you had to leave in September for school. You'd face time and call everyday to keep up with eachother and to see how everyone was doing.

This was your first opportunity to go home sinse school had started and you had to take it, you couldn't bare being away from your friends and family and needed to get away from school for a few weeks.

Christmas morning you woke.up at 5am, getting to the dock for the boat leaving to outerbanks at 6am, aiming to get home for noon.

The journey home was relatively quiet. Besides you there's was an elderly couple on a boat and a woman that looked just a little older than you also on the same trip, probably stuck in the same situation you were in.

Sarah had been blowing up you're phone all morning with texts and calls, wishing you a merry Christmas and wondering if you were coming home. You wanted to keep it a surprise from her, she had no idea that you were on your way home and you didn't want to give it away.

When you arrived in the outerbanks, you took in your surroundings. It was the first time in 3 months that you had been home and you missed it more than ever. You made your way straight to the Cameron's home, knowing that around this time your families would be getting together to sit down and enjoy Christmas dinner.

You knocked on the door, hearing the commotion from both families inside. With no response, guessing that you didn't hear you the first, you knocked again.

"Sarah can you grab the door?" You heard ward call.

"Yeah just a minute" she called back.

Perfect.

You waited a minute before the big white door swing open. There she stood, still in her pyjamas that she would've opened in Christmas eve, messy blonde hair galling down her shoulders looking like she had just woken up, but it was the same every Christmas.

"Y/n!" She screamed pulling you into a hug.

"Hi baby" you said, hugging her tightly.

"What are you doing here? I didn't think you'd be here you told me you wouldn't be here." She said quickly, looking at you confused.

"I couldn't miss Christmas now could I?" You asked. Meeting her gaze, you could tell she was still taking in the fact that you were stood on her doorstep, back in the outerbanks.

"I missed you so much y/n l/n"

"I missed you mire Sarah Cameron" you said, placing a soft kiss of her lips.
