I realise that the boy who was sitting behind the tree was Mattheo Riddle, why do I keep running into him?"Oh" I say, sounding rather disappointed, I see his face start to change but his expression is unreadable. "Have you seen him by any chance? I've been looking for him and I really need to find him."
"No, I haven't seen him" he says, I stand there for a moment until he starts speaking again: "so can you piss off now? I'm trying to read"
For some reason his words sting, almost as if they are coming from Draco.
"Mattheo Riddle reads?" I say trying to distract myself from what he said to me.
"Is that so hard to believe?" he scoffs in reply.
"Not really..." There are a few seconds of silence before I decide to speak again.
"Why did you defend me? I thought you hate me" I question, trying to change the subject.
"I do hate you." He snaps. "But I hate Malfoy more. Now, if you are done questioning me, I'd like to get back to my reading."
MATTHEO'S POV
She stands in her spot for a few seconds before turning around, walking back to the castle. Her eyes are full of innocence and purity, I don't know how Malfoy could touch her the way he does. How could he even speak to her that way? I wanted so badly to hex him when I saw him slap her earlier. Why did I feel so angry? Why do I care so much? I am meant to hate her but all I want to do is protect her. Why am I thinking like this? The only reason I feel like this is because she belongs to Malfoy and he does not deserve someone as perfect and pure as her. Yeah, that's why. That is the only reason.
I wonder how long Malfoy has been beating Y/N.
Why hasn't she said anything? Her reaction was unphased, almost as if he has done this before. Malfoy truly deserves to rot in Azkaban for hurting her. If her friends know then why haven't they said anything? There is only one reason for that and if it's what I'm thinking, Malfoy is fucked.
Honestly, I've never liked him. I would use any excuse to hurt him now. I liked the thought of him cowering beneath me, like a child getting punished for breaking their mothers vase. In this case, she was the vase and he was the disrespectful little twat who broke it.
As I watch her walk away, all I can feel is the urge to follow her but I resist.
I wasn't planning on going to the party tonight, but now I'm thinking I might.
Y/N's POV
I get back to my dorm at around 5. I still have an hour before I need to start getting ready so I went to the library to study for a while.
As I get to the library, I see Hermione. I walk over to her and sit with her.
"Hey, are you coming to the party tonight?" I asked her.
"What's tonight?" she replied.
"Oh, didn't you know? Slytherin is throwing a party. I thought everyone knew. Either way, you should definitely come. It'll be so fun" I said to her, really hoping she would accept my offer.
"Yeah I'll come, can I bring a few friends?" she pleads.
"Of course you can! The more the merrier" I say with a smile.
After 45 minutes of studying with Hermione, we decide that it's best to start getting ready.
Arriving at my dorm, I go straight to my wardrobe. I chose a black skirt with a slit on it, paired it with a dark green strap top and some tie up black heels. To accessorise I wear a silver necklace that has a serpent pendant on it.
