"Happy birthday baby." Demetrius mumbled, sitting on his bed as he stared at a drawing he once did of Diamonté for fun. An unlit blunt rested in his mouth and he sat idle. He had been on edge since Dia was gone for almost 2 months and there was still no trace of her at all.

Everyone figured she was dead by now, but he didn't and was angry the people that claimed to care about her would give up on her so easily. He wasn't sure how to find her because he tried practically everything he could but still allowed hope into his heart that he'd receive a sign at least.

Usually he was up and about, going to kill someone to get the voices out of his head. The voices in his head always nagged him about accepting the fact that Dia was dead but he didn't care nor did he listen. Demetrius couldn't give up, because he felt Dia was the only thing that gave him purpose.

He had never fallen madly in love with anyone before. And now that the one person he did fall in love with was missing he simply couldn't accept the thought of her being gone forever. Because if she was gone, he would be too, there was no way around that.

"That drawing is fire." he heard someone next to him say. Demetrius turned and saw an image of Dia right next to him.

After Calvin forced him to take his medication one day, Demetrius realized one of the side effects of the meds were hallucinations. He hallucinated about Dia once, and since then, he hadn't stopped taking the meds. Forcing himself to hallucinate about her everytime he took them.

It wasn't the real Diamonté and the hallucination only lasted no longer than 3 minutes. But just feeling like he was seeing her in person was enough for him.

"You always wanted me to draw you, I was gone give you this on your birthday. Along with a few others." he said to the delusion, flipping through his sketches showing her the many drawings he had of her.

"Thank you baby, I appreciate it, you're so talented." she complimented with a bright smile

Demetrius popped his imaginary collar and a goofy smile appeared on his face. "You know how I do." he said making her laugh

"You're so conceited... But seriously thank you Demetrius, thank you for still loving me and having hope for me." the delusion said

Everything the hallucination said and did was everything Demetrius felt Dia would say and do. None of it was real but it felt one hundred percent authentic to him.

"Somebody got to," he mumbled, "I apparently am the only motherfucker that love you. Its your birthday Dia... and they're- they're at your funeral today. Your parents planned this shit, talkin' bout a damn coincidence. Coincidence my ass." he said clutching the sketchbook tightly in his hands

He was angry thinking about everyone gathered at a funeral for her on her birthday and they weren't even sure she was dead. "Its fucked up, they claim its a 'celebration of your life'. Yo damn life ain't over for us to even be celebrating it, cause I know you still alive, they all just fucking stupid. Got a whole casket without a body in that bitch." he scoffed

"Demetrius its fine, I'm sure they mean well, its hard to hold on to hope, not everyone is like you. Its been two months, I'm nowhere to be found after you guys have done everything you could. I'd think I was dead too."

"That doesn't mean you dead, dumbass. You could just be missing, being tortured or held prisoner. Dead is extreme as fuck, and I don't believe it until I see you dead." he shrugged

The hallucination of Dia rolled her eyes and sighed, "Okay Demetrius whatever you say... but... listen what happens if you do see me dead? What happens if tomorrow my body is found and I'm no longer here? What happens if there's no more hope for you to hold on to? What will you do? You gotta think about these type of things you know that right?" she asked
