Once I was released from the hospital, Alastor took me back to my apartment. As soon as we opened the door, I found myself wishing I had actually cleaned before heading off to work on that fateful day. Well, the cat was out of the laundry bag now...
Helping me onto the couch, Alastor took the seat beside me. Leaning back against the cushions, I sighed, "You didn't have to bring me home. I could have called a cab."
"Nonsense," Alastor replied, "I wouldn't leave you there to fend for yourself."
I rolled my eyes dramaticly, still conviced I could have managed to get home on my own.
He looked over at me, his gaze serious, "You really did scare me, you know."
I met his gaze, slightly taken aback. I hadn't expected that my incident would scare one of the most notorious demons in all of Hell. Our gazes met held one another for a long moment.
Then, very slowly, Alastor leaned forward and pressed his lips to mine in a soft, imploring kiss.
