35. Just A Little More

My brows knotted when I noticed the empty space besides me. I become fully awake when I realized she's gone. I quickly wore my robe and look for her in every corner of my condo but I found nothing.

"Re?"

I laughed bitterly.

What the hell?

Did she leave me again? Just like that?

Great. Just fucking great.

I pushed all the figurines in top of the cabinet. A cracking sound filled the room. I devastatedly yell, my tears are streaming down nonstop.

Napaupo ako sa sahig at napayakap sa sarili, sa ganung posisyon pinagpatuloy ang pagiyak. Paulit-ulit na lang ba?

Why it is so easy for her to leave me?

"Shan?"

Nanghihinang napaangat ako ng tingin.

"What happened?"

She put the plastic bags in her hand in the table to rush towards me. Inangat ko ang kamay ko para abutin ang mukha nya pero agad niyang nahuli ito at kinulong sa kanyang palad.

"What happened? Are you alright?" natatarantang tanong nya.

I throw myself to her. She holds me tightly. And wait for me to calm down.

"Are you okay now? Hey, look at me and tell me what happened"

Bahagya kong nilayo ang sarili saka umiling ako na ikinakunot ng noo niya.

"Shan, why are crying?"

Ngayon ko lang sya napagmasdan ng maayos. She's wearing a yellow hoodie and short shorts, which are my clothes.

"Sorry. It was nothing. I just thought------you left me again"

She heaved a sigh before she guide me to the couch.

"Lumabas lang ako para bumili ng maluluto for our breakfast" she explained.

"Sorry for overreacting" nakayukong turan ko.

"Don't be. Just don't do this again. Paano na lang kung nasaktan ka? Stay here. I'll clean it up"

"Re"

She turned around and gave me a reassuring smile. I can't help but to feel ashamed of myself.

"Why don't you take a shower first as I prepare our food" sambit niya matapos linisin ang mga nabasag na figurines.

"Don't think about it, okay?" hindi ko napansing nakalapit na siya sakin. She caress my cheeks and she give me a not-so long yet not-so quick kiss.

Sinunod ko ang sabi nya. Nagtagal ako sa ilalim ng shower para ayusin ang takbo ng isip ko. Masyado akong nadadala ng takot. Takot na muli nya akong iwan, tuwing iniisip ko ito para akong masisiraan ng bait. Hindi ko alam kung sa pagkakataong ito ay makakayanan ko pa.

I hope I didn't ruin her morning.

Nagtagpuan ko syang abala sa pagsasalin ng kape. I snaked my arms around her small waist, resting my chin on her shoulder. I smell the scent of new brew coffee and her refreshing morning scent. It brings fluttering feelings inside.

"Good morning, hon" I whispered behind her ear before giving her a peck in the cheek.

"Good morning" nakangiting bati niya. "Kain na tayo"

I started kissing the side of her neck. I giggled when I saw the shock on her face.

"Hm, I'm already eating" nakangising anas ko.
